You don't need all wheel drive in South Louisiana.

South Louisiana gets some of the highest amounts of rainfall in the US. The AWD system is a godsend when it’s pouring outside.

They are ugly as sin, always have been. Also the lesbo mobile.

Pretty easy to see why people dislike them.

Send your daughter to college in the mountains. Subaru will be #1 on the list. No regrets.

Same reason people hate Jeep owners. It's a status symbol to cruise around with the angry frown headlight cowl and 167 plastic ducks on the dash.

Hey Man ….Not all Jeep Owners. Approve of the stupid Ducks.

But I understand your point.

I've driven Subarus since 2009. I bought a new Impreza sedan that year, and then ten years later I bought a new WRX. There's really nothing I'd rather drive.

The STI was a track-ready version of the WRX. Its edge over the WRX was never large on the street. I understand the nostalgia for the STI, but the real tragedy is that the new WRX is kind of disappointing. It just looks kind of big and dorky, and it's not as fast nor sporty as the 2015+ WRX was.

Great cars and always scores high for reliability. They’re the safest car on the road too. They don’t get that score because some safety features are options but standard on other cars.

The outback has one of the most comfortable seats I ever sat in.

Subaru uses some of the same components as Toyota, who I believe owns a piece of the company.

They don't call them toyobarus for nothing.

I had an ‘07 and an ‘18. Those were fun cars. Transmission was bulletproof, EJ series engine, not so much.

Subarus are easy targets for jokes because they were the first company to embrace ignored markets, like gays.

They make a great four wheel drive system. Their older EJ engines were okay for the time, they had headgasket issues on the non-turbo models. The turbo models used a multi-layer headgasket and didn’t have any issues. Headgaskets were a pain, becuase of the boxer engine orientation, the engine had to come out to do it. But they’d replaced the regular headgasket with one from a turbo and you’d be good to go. For the turbo models of the EJ, trying to keep up with regulations forced changes that ended up creating knock issues that would break ringlands and rods. LSPI was a big issue as the EJ platform aged in the performance models.

They are on a completely new engine architecture these days that doesn’t suffer from issues of the old ones. The CVT that they use in almost everything is okay. They aren’t like Toyota, even though there are parts and knowledge sharing with them, or Honda. You have to really keep up with maintenance on them. If you do you’ll have a vehicle that will go 200,000 miles pretty painlessly.

We like driving our 2015 Outback off road across fields and slightly rutted out dirt roads. We also live off a gravel road that gets washed out in heavy rains. Our Outback excels in these mostly light off road terrains. It's always dusty until we get a good rain shower. I haven't washed it except for the windows in years. When we do drive it on paved roads and highways, I like how it drives and it has plenty of power and quickness.

Subaru's are far more reliable than Jeep anything.

I have a 2015 wrangler and the only maintenance I have done is oil changes and replacing the battery. It’s a daily driver but during last years snow storm I was 1 of two people who made it to the office. I don’t hate Subarus but to me they are ugly.

I didn't know Subaru hate was a thing. I have a 2024 Subaru Forrester and it's the best vehicle I've ever owned. And the dealership provides the best service we've ever gotten from a dealership.

I've owned 3 Fords, a Chevy, an Acura, 2 Hyundai's, a Nissan and a Mazda and the Subaru is better than all of them.
