Sounds like you’re doing it wrong.
Backpack chairs, an umbrella, a small yeti (it has to be a yeti or you’re not beach ready) and a bag with tunes and towels. I laugh at those dragging a wagon not made for sand with their entire living room in it.

Women get to enjoy themselves way more at the beach than men in my experience. Men become mules while women become princesses.

I don’t understand the “it’s a huge pain in the arse with kids” stance
We’ve done mountains, camping trips, lake houses, city vacays, ski trips, etc. and a condo/house directly on the beach is definitely easier than all those
Do y’all just hate your children? I thought yall were all perfect fathers here

I don’t have kids but my sisters do and they love to go on ski trips. Certainly seems like just as much work, if not more, than a beach trip. All that gear, clothing, etc

If it weren't for my love of scuba diving, I wouldn't go to the saltwater ever again.

bring me to a beach without fat/trashy people on it and I’ll stay all day. Otherwise, I’m out

ll make an exception for places like Clearwater/St. Pete. We went there before we had kids and it was legitimately 8 steps from the elevator to beach. I can make something like work.
But the Alabama-Florida panhandle is absolutely miserable and I will not be convinced otherwise
Fact.

There are different ways to do the beach. I’ve always kind of hated the beach itself, but like being around it.
But I will also say that doing just about anything with young kids is fricking terrible. We have dragged ours all over the world and they have done their best to ruin it. Going to the actual beach or a boat ride with hot kids that don’t want to wear sunscreen or lifejackets has almost broken me

I like traveling to the beach for the view, but I hardly ever go hangout on the sand or in the ocean. I prefer the pool and view.
Went to Maui in January… great trip, spent a grand total of about an hour in the sand/ocean

The idea of sitting in a chair in the sand staring at the waves is overrated to me as well. I live about two blocks from a sandy beach and never go. I do enjoy going out in the boat and love myself a sandbar day where we hang out in the water all day. I like the water but don’t love the beach.

Fatherhood entails quite a bit of custodial work…
You’ll get a nice card next Sunday to show they appreciate it

I love going to beach towns and hanging out. I absolutely hate going on the beach.

With you.
Give me a cabin/house by a clear lake in the mountains - or hell just Lake Martin - all day every day over the beach. You still get water and sun, can float on clear, clean water with no jelly fish and sharks. No nasty sand and salt water you have to rinse off of and out of every crevice in your body every fvkn day. Don’t come home with a trunk full of sand.
I’m Team Freshwater Lake.

There’s only 3 things I don’t like about the beach:sand, saltwater and sun.

You have a family, money, and transportation to go on vacation, and you’re complaining? Do you know how many people wish they were so lucky? Be grateful for your blessings.

How much stuff do toddlers need to have at the beach for you to carry?

Currently on the way to the beach for the 3rd time in my 2 year olds life, and first time for the 7 month old. 2 year old loves it, it’s impossible to get him out the ocean. More importantly the wife loves it, and it makes her happy. Happy wife and kids=dad gets to drink beer in peace.
Kids don’t even require that much extra if you aren’t cheap and just pay for your chair and umbrellas to be set up. Back pack ice chest or two, big beach with towel and stuff, second bag with toys. I mean that’s what like one more bag than what two adults would take.
