I just see no upside to marriage for men.
Lower tax bracket is a pretty good upside, but there are plenty of risks associated with marriage. If you’re really worried about the money, you can get a prenup.

That's the attitude of guys without options.
Plenty of women out there.

What kind of dumbass thinks like this?

You are right. There is no benefit to being married.
Been divorced for 6 years now as of this month and not being married greatly outweighs being married

I remember when these threads were novel in 2015

Married folks always get triggered.
You can have the exact same relationship without bringing a government marriage contract into the relationship.
Married people don't seem to be able to process this fact.

If you have no kids, there's no reason to marry, period
Why if you love your wife and hope to spend your life with her, but don’t want kids? Is that good enough for you?

You can even have a wedding ceremony and take vows if you want, and keep the government out of your life.
In many states this is called common law marriage and they get half your shite as well.

Being single is better than being in a bad marriage. Being in a good marriage is better than being single.

Raising my son in a stable and loving household is a cool benefit.

Stats say this is wrong, especially for non-lower class people

You can't love your wife and spend the rest of your life with her without signing a government marriage contract?

Nope
This is Reddit fantasy nonsense

When you get married in the church, doesn't it make you get a government contract as well?
If not just get married in the church, but it's not meant for cutting your losses and fleeing later in life.
You really need to focus on finding the right woman. Married 12 years and loving the family life.
You will always be faced with challenges in a relationship. Wouldn't you feel better and have pride if it was with someone you committed to and not just head for the hills when times are tough?
People now have the mindset that leaving a marriage is like changing cell phone carriers.
If I was a kid whose parents were not married, I would have anxiety out the arse afraid of a break up.
Think of your future kids, but more importantly find the right woman.

Because it is a sacrament, and if you die living in sin, you go straight to hell.
If you are a Bolshevik do what you want. You are going to burn in hell anyway.

Government incentivizing marriage and having children within a marriage in some ways has value from an utilitarian angle and a virtue ethics angle because the nuclear family statistically results in better general outcomes for children, and I think leads to a happier life for everyone involved.
I see no issues with someone choosing to be married and not wanting to involve government, but it’s one of the few things a government can essentially subsidize and I take no issue with it.

Marriage is about two people committing to each other to love and support each other faithfully until death and if God wills it to have Children and raise them to the best of their abilities.
People need a better understanding of what marriage really is. Marriage is a lifelong bond, commitment, and hard work with the expressed goal of creating a loving home and environment for family.
It’s about surrendering yourself fully to another person and trusting that they are surrendering themselves fully to you.
You cannot make that decision lightly. And you cannot commit without a true undertaking of what commitment is and who you are committing too.
Unfortunately marriage has just become another beautiful gift God gave us and we tarnished and destroyed because we’re short sited narcissists.
