Why do all new vehicles only come with 2 holes for rear license plates??

This seems lazy AF to not even have 4 holes in the back of the vehicle anymore and instead there are a couple of cheap rubber strips glued on at the base.
license plates still ship with 4 holes the last time i checked and so i expect my damn vehicle to accommodate that. feel like my license plate will just be flapping in the wind.
what..the price of screws too high so everyone is saving a penny now? i'm talking new $80k+ vehicles doing this shite.
and get off my lawn.

The extra 2 holes are a $500 dealer option.

Do you want the 2 extra screws and plate ceramic coated for an extra $350?

Your mom has the other holes we need.

We should eliminate license plates.

Because one day someone asked why the hell do we need four screws on a license plate?

Don’t worry, after the electric vehicles are purchased, Teedy plans to focus on this as Nola’s next biggest priority.
Edit: It’s ridiculous we have to pay the government to use our own property, that we already paid the government taxes on to purchase.

I have never thought about my plates other than when I put them on. You have too much time on your hands.

The bottom 2 holes are for truck nut stabilizers

I don't like it when the unattached bottom sticks out. Was thinking of taking mine off and flattening it with a mallet.

Spinoff question: Why do people put the dealer license plate frames back on after they've put their plate on?
In particular, why do people with customized (mostly team plates) but a license plate frame back on?

Im with ya dude
Two screws only at top means it always rattles at the bottom
I wedged a small broke off piece of foam noodle behind plate
No mo rattle

I think my truck only has two holes, but the bottom just tucks in enough behind a plastic piece on the bumper.
I doubt it is flapping in the wind behind the car unless it is made of paper.

How am I gonna give free advertising to Audi Dallas and Beck & Masten GMC otherwise?
I actually think it loosk weird when plates don't have a frame on them and never got around to buying new frames.

Get those little silicone holders off Amazon for like 10 bucks
They're plain so nobody will notice them, but they keep the plate in place with no rattle and no tuned up edges
