I just wish they would bring back the Baja.
I bought an 05 Baja w/ 105,000 miles on it in June. Really enjoying it. Fun car.
But I just found an 09 Forester that I might trade it for. Only has 119,000 miles, leather, Nav. All stuff the Baja doesn't have. And it has the Turbo. So it's not slower than molasses in winter.
It's currently in the shop getting new head gaskets along with anything else that might have messed up fixed. So that is a piece of maintenance I know I won't have to do.
We also have a 2019 Outback Limited.
They just make good cars. Some models have had issues here and there, like the head gaskets, but overall they are fun cars to own.

Aerodynamics
Ding. Ding.
I read that they all look alike because wind tunnel testing led to that shape.

Nothing else on the market looks like a Lexus LC500.

Lexus hasn’t figured out how to get over 100hp per liter yet. They are heavy and underpowered.

I got my coloring book out and sold my square car drawings to all the automotive mfg companies. I told them that design was exclusively theirs for a slight fee.

I continue to amaze the young folks aged maybe less than 35 or 40 by pointing out a model and year of an older vehicles. As a kid growing up in a rural town in Louisiana I would often kill time by watching traffic go by and identifying the make, model, and year on the vehicles. It became a mental exercise kind of A game to me. I can still spot up to late 70s, some early 80s models but am dead on for 50s thru mid 70s.

Not exactly.
Hyundai bought 30% of Kia.

Cars, music, architecture, etc have all gotten this way. Lazy, uninspiring, and lacking individualism.
It’s part of the plan by the powers that be to slowly get us used to life in a communist society where everything is equal and uninteresting.

My wife (pics on TheFappening) was in the market for a new car and didn’t want another Outback (what I pushed for), so we went searching.
I didn’t know you were a chick.

We also checked out the Rav4, but I always thought they were gay.
Extremely solid post, OP. Your taste in cars is impeccable.

have been saying this for years. I miss the old days when you knew what the car was just by looking at them.
I miss when you had tons of options and tons of paint and interior color schemes where you could have a unique car that everyone knows is yours.

I miss the boxier vehicle style.

to give you a legit answer
it's b/c of fuel efficiency requirements. those create the need for the more bubble shaped cars due to aerodynamics
Posted on 7/29/20 at 10:23 am to SlowFlowPro
It's MPG and also crash test requirements.
