I really think it needs to be $15 million. I know he is a good enough coach to elevate talent, but $15mill looks to be the minimum for top 10 teams next year. If he can elevate 12, what heights could 15 get us?

Hes still learning how to move his body correctly on a basketball court. That comes from with drills and playing. Defending off the correct foot, playing off 2 feet and not playing with your top half moving faster than your bottom half, timing rebounds, boxing out without over setting, using your shoulders to create proper space, learning to see a balls path and know ahead of time which way it will bounce...etc. Those are the types of the skills he struggles with. We need to have patience. He was playing hurt most of the year too. He absolutely has potential, and I want him on our team.
Thats where experience comes in...You learn by playing.
do we really think TBB is leaving? This is the perfect system for his skill set. He just needs experience and some good weight.

Mallette seems like a good kid and by all accounts was a wonderful teammate and great ambassador for the university. But he sucks. Was supposed to be a three point sniper and most nights he was just basically out there

Dont give me that bullshite. Mallette won us multiple games through his hustle and grit making critical plays saving us possessions. Dude played his arse off for this team. We dont beat Arky without his two big 3s either.

might need around $15M

from everything I've seen, 15m is the minimum for a top 10 team next year. frick a new contract for Nate, I'm sure he'd rather have more Nil.
the way theyre running their screens is killing us. We cant get past Mara, and if we go under he instantly starts running to the basket like an olineman and bulldozes the defender, and they won't call it. Sherrell needs to start hedging those, but we are too dedicated to drop coverage.
Portnoy made a bet with an employee that if Bama covers the spread, Portly will double his salary and give him a 10 yr contract.

Porthole also donates a ton to the Michigan NIL fund.

frick him.
frick Yellow

frick Blue

frick Auburn

frick Dave Portnoy

frick Michigan

and frick Tennessee too.
McFadden/Jones for me

2017 Bama gets my vote for overall room tho.

Scarborough
Damien Harris
Josh Jacobs
Najee Harris
Brian Robinson Jr

5 NFL starters and 2 first round picks.

Here is my thing, last year we struggled with Duke so much because of their length and quickness at 1-3. They swallowed Sears alive. He was too small and slow to do anything. We will not have that problem this year. We have the length to compete on offense. I dont believe they are as quick defensively as Duke was last year. I honestly think our offense would struggle more against Iowa St because they do have the speed and length on the perimeter to bother us.

The main problem is rebounding. I think we need to get 10% of our misses, and prevent them from getting more than 20% of theirs.

Hopefully playing 5 out will allow us to be more competitive on the boards because it will keep their bigs out of the lane. Either that, or it leaves Williamson and Sherrell wide open shots.

It's not a good matchup but maybe that tough schedule pays off for us.

Its a better matchup than most think. They arent great defending the 3, and Mara is really uncomfortable defending outside of the paint, our bigs will get plenty of open 3s.

Its weakness on weakness, which may make for a funner game to watch than strength on strength.
Michigan has actually been not great at defending the 3. Wisconsin popped them because of that. We have a chance next week. They have a ton of size, but they arent as athletic as Duke last year on perimeter defense. We have a punchers chance.
I cant wait to play Tennessee in the EE.

That game thread would be toxic af

I’d give a lot to take Williamson’s, Bristow’s, and TBB’s to get Lendeborg who was literally playing in the state of AL last year. We’d be a 2 seed with a legit NC shot and Mich would probably be a 3 seed with minimal chance. There are examples of large $ rosters flopping, but Mich and AZ are both high $ rosters.

I think it was bigger than NiL. Yaxel wanted to be a 2/3, I bet we wanted him to play at the 4 because we had Allen, Bethea...etc

Think he chose Michigan because they had the size to allow him to play where he wanted.

Fwiw, I really dont like a lot of his metrics. Can fully explain it, but it seems like they miss a lot of information. 0% chance Anderson is that much better than Philon.

Like, his charts about who has played the best against good competition says Bama is bad against good teams. But I can only think of 2 games Bama was truly out of, Arizona and UF. Played everyone else close or won. Gonzaga and Purdue were close till the final minute and the late fouling pushed the gap wider via freethrows.

They said yesterday Alabama has had 13 different lineups this season.

That was in the regular season. Technically yesterday was the 14th. Thats crazy over 33 games against the toughest schedule in CBB. Oats is GOATs.
nah, not 60%. We need to hit 12-15 at a 40% ish clip, and we need to get boards on at least 10% of our misses and 70% of their misses. The boards I think are the much bigger challenge. I think it will actually help that the balls are bouncy, means boards won't be concentrated around the basket. Because Sherrell is going to struggle with Mara. Would NOT be surprised if we ran some sets with Sherrell at the 4 and Williamson at the 5. Along with Jemison at the 3 on Yaxel, and Amari at the 2. They just have so much length.

Regarding Tech, I may be crazy, but I like our matchup. They are pretty small, we have the better frontcourt and backcourt, and we both play similar styles. They'll play harder than we do defensively though. Should be a good game overall, but I think this matchup favors us.
They are, yes, I am saying specifically on why our ball keeps rimming out.
Its the ball, theyre not broken in and over inflated. I am not exaggerating, 6 or 7 of our misses would have been makes at home, because the ball would have settled in. Instead it had way too much momentum and keeps rimming out. Ball has been halfway down on almost every miss.
