I always felt like college athletes in the 80s looked like they were mid 30s.

Are those ages accurate? Seems like a set up.

It's real. Assuming it was taken in 1982 when Cheers premiered:

Wendt (b. 1948) -> 34
Danson (b. 1947) -> 34ish
Ratzenberger (b. 1947) -> 35
Colasanto/Coach (b. 1924) -> 58
etc.

All of the 30's I could explain with hair style and clothing, but that dude who's 58 looks fricking 75.
Grew up in the Depression and fought in WWII, then entered Hollywood in the 50s. Dude probably smoked 250K unfiltered cigarettes in his lifetime, not to mention the drugs and booze.

There's nothing psychological about that.

I don't believe those ages.

That may be an accurate pic since there's no Woody Boyd, Frazier Crane, Lilith, or Rebecca in that pic as they came on later in the show.

The idea in the 80's was to grow up and be as independent as possible. People tried to look adult in their teens.

This was very true. Everyone wanted to be "adult". In my teens and 20s I was trying to look older. Also, we act much younger now than then. People acted old at 40, and quite often, they had kids graduating from HS then. Now, people are acting young longer and having children at an older age.

And smoking.

People dressed different back then. You could look at someone and tell by the way they dressed whether they were college aged or new in the work field, middle management... retired..

And adults did adult stuff, where as today, there are interest that attract people from all ages. And people are taking better care of themselves,,

Those aren't AGES, those are "woke" scores, and none of them are good scores.

FWIW, the theme song to Cheers is an awesome song.

And have you seen what high school girls look like these days? Geez, they look much older and more developed than I remember in high school...

It would be cool if someone could edit the photos to give them hair and clothing that are cool and hip for today’s standards, and see if they still look old.

Bingo.

We tried to grow up ASAP, wanted out of the house and total independence. We tried to look older.
