As long as Houston exists, no other major city can claim to be the worst.

In Texas the money is earned in Houston, counted in Dallas, and spent in Austin. This was guidance from my old man - God rest his soul.
Dallas was a big insurance town. Gibraltar Insurance, a Dallas based insurer, was purchased by Prudential in the 70s or 80s and that's why the logo has one of the Straights of Gibraltar on the logo.

Welcome to the OT. But what's the cheapest rental car out of DAL?

Sick of you people from Louisiana talking shite about Atlanta.
Atlanta is a world-class city that hosted the Summer Olympics and has one of the best economies in the United States. Besides South Atlanta.... Atlanta is actually a very safe Major city with very safe suburbs.
It's a great place to live but because of the stupid Falcons/Saints so called rivalry or a bunch of pussies that had to drive the mean highways of Atlanta, you people sit and talk shite about it every fricking day on here when the fact of the matter is that where they are from or live is a total shithole.
I have lived everywhere - Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Nashville, Dallas, Alabama, Las Vegas and several others and Atlanta has more to do than any other city with the exception of Las Vegas and is probably one of the safest places I have lived... oh, and people who live here are actually pretty damn nice and friendly

Dallas is full of well off divorcees that love to frick.
Hardly the worst city.
Hardly the worst city.

A lot of homeless trash in downtown Dallas. Every big city has been ruined. We really don’t deserve to live among these people.

Dallas like LA though is becoming more known for its burbs than for the city itself.
Because that's where the population growth is and that understandably gets the attention .I lived on Orange County Cali back in the day and it does remind me of the Dallas burbs without the nice beaches and hills. But those boom burb towns have a time when they are built out, property taxes aren't growing and the population is aging. Plano is at that point and had to raise prop taxes thus year since development has moved further north. But Dallas as a livable city has improved greatly over the last 15 years and the schools are pretty damn good for a big city. Property values in the city reflect the desirability of living here and I've met multiple people who once their kids were done with school in the burbs, they've moved back to the city to live a more urban life.

It’s also better than Houston
To each their own, but I like Houston a lot. I would never live in Dallas.
Austin is frickin disgusting though. It makes downtown New Orleans feel like Lucerne.

Rinse and repeat all over America.

Houston is far shittier swampier and more traffic. Its terrible
Then there's that. And "in the world"? I stand corrected. Hyperbolic. But still didn't like Dallas. And it is better than Houston.
True story about Houston...
When I was consulting in the early 2000's, got to spend a few weeks in Houston. I wake up to go to work in the morning, go to the car, and there's this sheen of oil on the windshield. Guess when the wind blows right and you got the refineries around....

Not close and not accurate…A strait is a narrow passage. Not a cliff or a rocky out-crop or The Mountain that The Rock of Gibraltar is.
Furthermore, Prudential acquired The Gibraltar Life Insurance Co., Ltd. on April 1, 2001 so your story is either intentionally made-up or you are simply WRONG for other reasons.
The symbol of The Rock of Gibraltar was adopted by The Prudential Insurance Company of America in the 1890’s and had nothing to do with the purchase of Gibraltar Insurance Company in 2001.

The appeal? This….
I live about five miles from Southfork Ranch and used to drive by it twice daily when I had to go in the office.
It's 30 miles from downtown Dallas and had to be in the middle of nowhere when that show was filmed
And it isn't that big, there's 10 homes right down the street that are bigger.
