no that's an not answer ....
destorying your looks with ink isn't a positive decision, it degrades your body and for some, it makes them unemployable.

doing what you want isn't psychology....psychology is gettign to the "why" would you do that to yourself?

You ever think that maybe people that get them don't think that they are destroying their body and that's just your personal opinion.

You're acting like every tattoo that someone gets is some giant ugly arse rose on their thigh or some face tattoo. Sure, there are tattoo's that are legit destroying their bodies and there are companies out there that won't hire someone based on them, but that's not the case with everyone/all tattoo's.

I'm not a tattoo guy, but I 100% understand why some people would want to get some and think there are some really nice looking tattoo's out there and some are expressions of art to be worn. To not understand why someone could ever get a tattoo and only see it as destroying their body just shows you're out of touch with reality.

I once read in an OT thread…

“You never see a bumper sticker on a Lamborghini.”

You think all these people walking around with tattoo's were Lamborghini's before their tattoo's? They might think they are a Lamborghini, but they're really just a Honda Civic. And nobody cares if a Civic has a bumper sticker or not.

A bad tattoo can certainly make a pretty girl less attractive but I don't think an appropriately placed and sized feminine tattoo makes a pretty girl less attractive.

Maybe to you. It immediately signals to me that she lacks any foresight and will always go along with the crowd

It's hard to find a woman under 40 that isn't tatted up.

I don't mind them if they're meaningful. But to be honest, they're not for me and I don't have to live with the decision for the rest of my life.

My wife has one but it's very small and hardly noticeable; it's a part of her late grandmother's favorite Bible verse.

I'll probably never get one but I try not to judge people on their tattoos unless they are obviously trashy.

As far as why are so many people getting them? I feel like people are losing the ability to communicate through normal means and this is a way for them to do so. It's a conversation starter for some, so maybe not an entirely terrible thing.

My grandfather had some forearm tattoos he got while in the USMC. He regretted having done that and told me as a young boy to never do that to yourself. I listened and am tat free.

Same. One grandfather got drunk and got a bunch of tats in WWII and regretted it the rest of his life. Especially the knuckle tats. I never got them when I was in the fleet.

The OT worries/bitches about tattoos more than just about anything else. It is weird.

what's it hurting?

Your health.

Tattoos are the new cigarettes.

When science soon confirms that injecting carcinogenic ink into your skin causes numerous cancerous health issues, the pure skins will say “yeah duh, no shite” while those getting numerous cancer injections will say, “duuuuhhh, how come nobody told me, who can I sue?”

That’s why I said what I think. I’ve seen plenty of girls with tattoos have nice careers and professional and good judgement in everyday life. Getting a tattoo doesn’t cancel out those things. It’s just something you old heads will immediately write someone off because of. Like I say, I’m not a tattoo guy, but I’m also not so single minded to think that they immediately mean the person is trashy or lacks foresight or just goes with the crowd. My primary care doctor has a tattoo on her wrist. A real dumb crowd follower that one.

It's not my thing either but it's what's in style. Why do people get their ears pierced or have certain haircuts? I get tattoos are way more permanent but that's a problem for another day

The answer can be found in another question. Once you apply it nationwide, you will understand.

Did you hear about the guy from McComb that was so dumb, the rest of them noticed?

Ah yes, we need more time to research this brand new fad of tattoos
