I’ve never seen a doctor in scrubs (outside of surgery). It’s usually a sales rep or a dentist.
You need to get out of the house more if true..

How else will I let everyone know I am better than them?
This is the correct answer. I'd like to fight the people I see wearing these at the gas station or the grocery store.

Cheap, easy to wash, fairly comfortable.

I don't care what the peasants think or feel.

Fact: elastic waistbands are more comfortable than anything that falls into the "business casual" category.
Women can avoid waistbands altogether by wearing dresses. I wear a dress every day for this reason.

Yes.
The difference between where and wear.

While we are at it....why a white lab coat? You work indoors, what does the white coat provide?

Dude you have some serious issues you need to work out if this is how you really feel.

Do you want to fight everyone wearing their work uniform that have to run errands after work?

Another barrier device... Why do chefs/welders wear aprons?

This. People with zero clinical experience or patient contact. Makes it easier for them to gain access in healthcare settings.
Not so much the case anymore, at least in the Phoenix-area. Former medical-device rep (mechanical and porcine (pig) heart valves) and now regional manager and I lived in my scrubs. Very comfortable (like pajamas), especially in 100+ degree heat. Years ago I could walk in off the street wearing scubs and go anywhere in the hospital where infection was not an issue but no longer.
Over 10 years a group text went out amongst a large group of us device reps notifying everyone that Banner Health- then the largest healthcare group in AZ- was changing their stance allowing reps to wear scrubs off the street and in their hospitals. It sucked. I called the corporate person who made the decision and I was good friends with and asked why and she stated that my pharmacuetical rep counterparts ruined it. She said the reps were having issues gaining access to the physicians in their offices and started calling the hospitals and checking their surgery schedules and then were tracking them down in the hospitals and blending in by wearing the same style and color scrubs worn in the hospitals. They were going into physician lounges and hanging around the cafeteria and coffee carts and ambushing the physicians and the docs were passive about it and instead asked corporate to enact a no-scrubs policy so they did, stating cross-contamination issues. Almost all other hospitals in the area have since followed suit. On the rare occasions I am allowed to wear scrubs I wear some issued by my company with the company name on them to distinquish me from hospital personnel and then switch onto hospital issued scrubs before going in to CVOR, Cardiac Cath Lab or OR. I still own probably 30 pair of scrubs.

A 50-year old bald guy at my gym almost exclusively works out in scrubs. Goes in and without a warm-up starts repping 250+ on the bench

Never worn scrubs but if they feel anything like these bad boys then I can’t blame someone a bit for wearing them.

We wore them in the nuke plant when we had to dress out to go into contaminated areas. I used to wear them every day because they were a lot more comfortable than wearing a shirt and pants. As long as we didn’t have to deal with people not associated with the plant they didn’t have a problem with us wearing them
