They are uniforms. Nothing more, in many cases. But in a hospital they do serve a purpose not related to disposability/easy laundering. They are a way to at a glance know if you are talking to a nurse, a tech, etc as they are color coded.

I’ve never seen a doctor in scrubs (outside of surgery). It’s usually a sales rep or a dentist.

Everyone single one of my kids doctor has worn them. The doc in a boxes wear them. Dentist. Etc

Back 20 years ago when clothes weren’t as comfortable, I get it.

But now you can get business clothes and business casual clothes that are just as comfortable.

How else will I let everyone know I am better than them?

Because they see me stunting in my FRC’s with pearl snaps.

Well hot damn man, I must have found the one item you don’t care to post about yet you still did!

I don’t care what they wear, I wasn’t sure if there was an actual reason because I couldn’t find one on google.

My friend and his wife stopped over at the house and she had her scrubs on from work in the ER. Custom prints and shite. So I was just curious. I should have asked her.

Fact: elastic waistbands are more comfortable than anything that falls into the "business casual" category.

One thing I love about my scrubs….they don’t wrinkle at all. I don’t have to iron or steam them. They don’t require special washing instructions either.

My understanding is they were meant to be worn only on site at the hospital and changed out of?

That’s how my wife does it. The only time she wears them home is when she’s on call.

I just always thought that the reason for wearing scrubs (bodily fluid) is the fundamental reason why you wouldn’t be wearing them out and about, i.e., you have bodily fluids on your scubs.
