A lot of these poor people wouldn’t consider themselves poor, these people get up and go to work everyday to provide. It’s all comes down to a mentality about providing the best you can VS complaining about everything and those values are taught at a young age.

It’s not a paintbrush “all of them”. It is a segment of people who never let go of trusting others and taking people at their word. They are the ones who don’t read contracts because they believe what the other person said, so they don’t think anything will complicate their beliefs.

And truth be told, I’m glad these people still exist and wish we could all hang on to that innocence.

You’d love the government too if they refilled your SNAP card every month.

And paid all of your other bills so you could sit around all day and watch workers across the street.

Not everybody thinks the government owes them something whether they are rich, poor, blacks, white or whatever. Most recognize what a great country this is and the opportunities it gives most that take them.

If you want to generalize I have a better question.

Why are upper to middle class liberals so unpatriotic, when they reap the benefits of this country?

Intergenerational class mobility has been stagnant for several decades.

So Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, these guys are the evidence of stagnation for decades eh? The little girl of healthy cookies yesterdays thread, many other internet kids, the phone games folks, all those are the evidence of decades of stagnation too I guess.

More baseless and actually unproven or disproven BS as a starting point for the study which drives them to a BS conclusion.

I would guess their definition of "patriotic" includes folks like the ones blocking the interstate last night in Pittsburgh cause "protesting is like patriotic dude".

There are no poor people in America. Here the people we call poor are fat and have cable. That isn't poor.

I grew up poor and have always been patriotic in the sense that I was a believer in the idea that america was founded on. To me America has always been a place where a person was not consigned to a station in life because of who his or her parents were. That has not and even now is not the case everywhere. I believed, and still believe, that a person can go as far as their will and intellect can take them. In that sense I am patriotic and thankful to have been born in this country, even though I was raised poor to a terrible father who spent much of my youth in prison.

That said, I am only loyal to the ideas that made Anerica great. I do not serve the government or pledge allegience to a flag, especially as the government strays from those original ideas and enforces its ever-increasing whims with the barrel of a gun.

Patriotism is free. Poverty for most Americans is a choice.

Literally this only applies to AA.
Asians and Latinos are moving up the ladder.
Wonder why that may be the case....

Is this the thread in which black people are the intended target, or poor people in America?

It is an article from Salon.com.

The target is "ignorant, poor" Trump voters who vote against their interest.

We must ignore the growing economy and the fact that there are 22M less people on food stamps, etc now.

This is the angle.

Oh, and kids on the border now too that are affected by a law that Bill Clinton (who I voted for) put in place.

Being poor in this country is still way better than being poor or middle class in a lot of other countries out there. Now whether or not poor people realize that and makes them more patriotic? I don't know.
