Real ID has nothing to do with TSA Precheck. You'll still need a Real ID license or passport. I think they also accept TWIC now.

People who read the requirements for renewal. I read them. Took one additional document. Listened to people in front of me say 'how was I supposed to know." Then was given a real ID while renewing.
It is amazing how many people will look up everything else on their phone, but can't figure out how to get an ID.

I did it and it wasn't that bad. Pick a mid-month, mid-week day and check online for what you need (it ain't that much) and get it done once then go back to renewing online

I just had to get my license renewed. I did it all on-line, including scanning an eye test and sending it in. When they sent me the new license, it had the star on it. Pretty easy. No hoops were jumped.

You do realize that the US has stated real ID since 2005 and you've had plenty of time to obtain it?
