Obviously Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc... are the most well known people ever.
Other than religious icons who in world history is the most well known worldwide?
I'll submit two obvious ones, Julius Caesar and Adolph Hitler are both up there

I would probably guess Julius Caesar. Most probably know who Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan are, but know much less about them than Caesar and the Roman Empire.
