My dad told me they brought their car to Ascension Honda in Gonzales today to get the tires rotated. He made marks on the tires before bringing it in, but forgot to check right after service. They grab lunch and see the tires were never moved. Shows back up and tells them and the service guy tells him he got busy and forgot…

Yet they still bring the car out like the service got done .

I was looking forward to hearing how he let them have it because he’s got a temper, but he says he didn’t complain much because he was having a good day. I would’ve lost my shite.

What’s some good stories y’all have?

Ford Dealer here in TN, called and scheduled a simple tire balance because of a slight shimmy at like 65 on our Transit 350....guy said no problem.

Got there to drop it off, confirmed it was a simple tire balance and this guy (different guy) said no problem, they'd call when it's done.

I called that afternoon (like 5+ hours later) asking if it was done because I could pick it up. The woman on the phone (3rd person now, if you're keeping track) said it'd be ready first thing tomorrow morning, they ran into a few priority commercial jobs but "we promise we'll get the tires balanced on your van".

I go to pick it up in the AM; the Dealership's General Manager was at the desk and I kindly mentioned to him I was a bit pissed they had to keep my vehicle overnight for just a tire balance. This motherfricker straight up says, "Tire balance? Our balancer has been out of service for well over a month waiting on a part and the company to come fix it".

Sure as shite never brought anything back to that dealership...

I went to a dealership and I kid you not, watched some grease monkey go grab a dirty A/C filter from another car's hood, and show it to me like it was mine needing replaced.

College Station Ford. My backup camera went out on my KR. Took it in, told the guy the screen is fine the camera went bad. He says they will look in to it. Calls me says it's not the camera, it's the screen. I tell him that does not make sense but if it fixes it go ahead. Then after the repair, calls me again and says it's the camera not the screen. I lay into the guy saying I am not paying for both a new screen and a camera, that he can piss off. Top guy calls me back says they will only charge me for the camera. When I pick up my truck the panels are still not put back on my dash. I lit into the service manager right in front of the other customers about I am never coming back since they were trying to rip me off. Never did, and did not buy another Ford cause of it.

Fast forward a few years and they buy the Nissan dealership. My daughters service guy at Nissan was great. He ended up getting fired cause he was not upselling problems in the service dept.

The service manager at the VW dealership HATES me with a passion. Several times he voided warranty work for "modifications" and every single fricking time VW made him fix it. His stance is ANY modification voids the entire warranty which is utter bullshite. It got so bad VW wouldn't even bother to get his side before approving fixing my car. There is a reason I traded that car in the day before the warranty was up and got a Toyota. Took me 15 years of that experience before I went back to any German car. My later cars were much more reliable, the VW was just electrical gremlins, so much so I never tuned it. I tuned my later VW's and boy does that wake them up.

I had a flat tire. Had the tire replaced. The next day, my ABS and advancetrac warning lit up.

Had to wait two weeks to drop off at the dealership. Then, they had to hold the vehicle for a week just to examine it. Week goes by, they think they figured out what it was. I come in to grab it, drive it off the lot, moment it hits payment, sensors go off.

Whip right back in. They finally find me a rental car. 3 weeks go by, say they still have no answers. Talking to engineers in Detroit, etc. they do a very expensive fox thinking that solves issue, it did not; in fact solve issue.

I go out to look at tire that started all this… mfers put a one size bigger tire on and it threw the whole system out of whack. Got all my money back as well as brand new set of tires. It was a 3 month saga. So stupid

Toyota dealership dropped my buddy's Tundra off the lift while changing the oil. Hit hard enough to bend the frame and total it out. My buddy's a bit of a push over and accepted a lease agreement on a new Tacoma. The Tundra was paid off.

i HATE hollingsworth richards ford with a passion.

They always suck but i bought a battery from them and they changed it out. when i got my truck back, the screen didn't work. i went back in and told them. They said "it'll be $900 for a new APIM" i said "aw hell naw, it worked when i brought it in, it better work when i leave." ended up getting put in touch with a hollingsworth. they begrudgingly fixed it. unreal

i mean can you fricking imagine if i test drove a car and brought it back with something not working?

Brought wife's car in for some small recall some years ago. Car about two years old.Asked the guy while they had it up to look at front end, hearing noise, and let me know if anything need work.

Waiting several hours, impatient, finally told me car was ready. Bill for over 1500 dollars, shocks struts brakes etc.

Went ballistic. Guy with bill had called for Mrs. dietcoke7. Demanded they put parts back on. Said they were gone. Demanded owner, who I knew slightly. After much anguish he wrote off bill.

Service guy clearly saw woman's name on invoice and tried to pull a fast one.
We never went back.

I made friends with a guy who was service dept manager at a ford dealership. He used to take shite out of new cars, put it in mine and tell me they’d be fine bc it was a brand new car and under full warranty.

they were probably bringing tires somewhere else to get balanced and was relying upon another that tire place's schedule.

Test drove a truck at a fairly new pre-owned dealer a few years back. I know enough about vehicles to give it a thorough look over. It was a very clean truck with right at 100k miles.

The SM & I are looking it over while its running & I hear a slight clicking sound. Of course he didn't hear & I ask if it was ok to drive.

So we take off, & the noise is more noticeable. I ask again, you hear it? As he was about to answer, the truck loses power right after a much louder noise.

Long story shortened, they tried to blame me, I told them to frick off, they said they'd take me to court. The SM didn't know whether to shite or go blind.
He knew I wasn't the cause.

I walked out, he followed, I pulled out my phone & showed him the video. I recorded the whole thing as I do all my business transactions. Never heard from them & they lasted another year or so.

Honda dealership. I really needed to get a new Pilot, but I was upside down on my trade-in.

Sales guy said the best he could do was $1200 a month for 84 months.

I said, "Let's do it."

There was some guy in the sales stall next to me listening in, hope he took notes. Always be closing.

On the way back from the Grand Canyon when I was a youngin. The family wagon developed a clicking noise outside Albuquerque. Stayed in a Holiday Inn three days while the dealership there tried to diagnose it. They finally gave up and told us we'd probably be alright to drive home, but don't get above 50 in case the wheel fell off. Limped across Texas at s snail's pace. Got home, took it to the local dealership where they tightened the speedometer cable, no more clicking.

Honda of Covington
Driving home van starts driving really rough. Dashboard lights up etc. Bring it in to dealership. They come back with "your engine is done, full rebuild needed" 7K proposed. This was a 2014 Odyssey, black book value was 8K at the time.
A friend recommended an honest mechanic and I had them take a look as a second opinion. They replaced spark plugs and coils and the thing was running as good as ever...and has ever since.
I called the dealership back and told them what the mechanic found. The service manager hemmed and hawed about an inexperienced tech, etc.
I'll never go back to honda of covington for anything.
