Honest question, how many full time employees do you think it takes to keep this place up? Both interior and exterior employees

Likewise- Who would buy a 12.5 million dollar home in Lafayette?
And this one had a history of foundation failures and back and forth lawsuits on who was going to pay for it to be fixed

If I have that kind of money to spend I’m going to south beach. If any of you life long time Louisiana residents lived away from the gulf coast you’d understand.

My kids and grandkids are mostly local, here in Louisiana. That makes this the most attractive place in the world to me. Since I’m living here, I want a nice place to live. I spent a bunch of money building a wonderful home. I know I can never get my money out of it. But that’s what money is for, to make us happier.

I’ve traveled to far more places than you and completely disagree.

Being another rich smuck in South Beach would be a complete waste. I’ve been to South Beach way more times than you’ve even thought about South beach. Louisiana is a wonderful place to experience life. Amazing people amazing food, South La has a soul to it that you cannot find anywhere else. People who hate on the state are sad. I’ve been literally everywhere and love this place.

better question who would build a home like that backing up to interstate

It is in a horrible location. It is not in a gated community, not even in a neighborhood. It is between a street with heavy traffic and the interstate. If I was spending that kind of money in Baton Rouge, I would build on the bluff side of Highland to at least have a little terrain instead on being on the flat gumbo ground that is 99% of Baton Rouge.

That aquarium setup is 100K++++. Paying someone to maintain it is probably stupid money.
That is another issue with a lot of homes like this.

When you hyper-customize the house, it shrinks the pool of buyers.

Wonder if it has room in the front yard for an a-frame hoist, so T-boy can change engines on his week off from offshore…

The fireplace would cause a heat point in the aquarium. If the aquarium is established, there is almost zero upkeep. Normal homeowner has a contract along the lines of a bug guy.

Being able to fish for your meals should help offset the maintenance costs.

Why would anybody except for the poorest of the poor want to live in a shithole like Baton Rouge?
