For the 8 figures you need to buy this house, you can move your whole family to somewhere 10x better than EBR.

Could be just a marketing gimmick.

Someone got a permit approved for a 23k sq ft house on Highland recently. I want to say it's more expensive than this one.

can’t imagine the scenario that would make me build a crib like that in BR

There is a decent amount of industrial money in BR. Many of those businesses are based here.

unless I was from there, had family there, and planned for that to be my final resting place, no way, I’d have to have an exit strategy, underwater the day you break ground

Yeah, probably not smart to build that big here, but I presume these people are smart enough to know that. Maybe they figure they'll die there or are uber wealthy like Todd Graves and don't care about losing a few million.

There is definitely a decent 1-5 million market. Above that is probably not that easy to unload.

I know that house in the OP. That guy owns some kind off offshore oil company IIRC.

there’s some sort of “compound” like that in Mandeville, guy bought up a neighborhood, and not even a real nice one, has built mini estates for everyone in his family, I believe he’s in the ocean going tug bidness

Might be the same dude. All I recall is it was something offshore related.
