Bridgeland has grown quite a bit since that time and its still rapidly growing. I think just about 3,500 homes now. A few cheesy movies, some of these are a few years old and much more has been added since then.

I have relatives living in Seabrook and Webster, near NASA, SE of Houston. Seems like a nice area. One of them commutes to downtown Houston for work.

I live in Deer Park.
Pros: good schools, reasonable cost of living compared to say the Heights (where I moved from), low crime overall, and fewer traffic issues except for the Beltway construction
Cons: you are far away from it all in terms of dining, functions, and ‘Houston’ life

I don't but a bunch of my first cousins do. I'm partial to the Clear Lake area but I like to fish.

I've been in the Seabrook area for the last 12 years. Live in League City now. It kinda feels like I'm still living in Louisiana with being close to the water and all. Lots of places close by so there's plenty to do, when they don't have the place shut down.
I moved to Houston not really planning to stay, but now I don't have any plans to move back.

Pros - decent job market, good schools
Cons - everything else
Add decent cost of living and I’d say that you have it covered
It’s definitely not for me, but I can see the appeal that it has to others.

We're basically in The Woodlands. Been here 4 years & have enjoyed it.
I work downtown (or at least I did prior to the Chinese virus letting me work from home). My 31 mile commute is the only con, but it's really not that bad. I leave early enough to beat most of the traffic in both directions.

If I hadn’t moved back from my first job when I graduated I would be in Clear Lake Shores. Seamed like a great place if you want to be on the water

I like the Seabrook, Kemah, League City area. It has it's own laidback lifestyle down there, especially if you are into boating, fishing, or golf. Nightlife I guess is still legit. Everyone I know in that area pretty much works close to their homes. I guess it’s ok for commuting but I wouldn’t wish that 45 traffic clusterfrick on my worst enemy.
Since I got out of that rat race of driving into the Galleria area every day years ago, I treat a trip down to an Astros game, or nice dinner, or a Texans game as an event and will often times get a room down there so I don’t have to drive or Uber back to Kingwood that night.

Cypress area
Still lots of growth going on out this way.
Traffic sucks if you're driving to somewhere inside the loop.
