I wouldnt say someone like Oswald is famous. fame implies one is popular. He is more infamous.

I know I am splitting hairs here, but i think it should be an important distinction if we are trying to answer OP's question.

Anyone under 40 may not know he’s from Nee Orleans, but I bet they would recognize this guy before recognizing Peyton Manning.

I’m not saying he’s the most famous, but among the younger crowd, he is probably well recognized.
