Watson is a Republican challenger of quality, likewise is Tara Wicker the Democrat. There are clowns in the race, but honestly those 2 are better options for either side of the aisle than most elections. Wicker is actually sensible enough she will pull votes from Watson.

The number of candidates is an indictment of Broom and pretty much ensures she won’t be re-elected IMO. I’m curious to see if she gets in the runoff. I think she and Marcel split some votes.

Interested to see how the Carter, Piazza, Watson vote splits. I’d like to see a Wicker & Watson runoff. But there’s so many people I’m not sure how the vote will shake out. Just hope at least one good candidate is left at the end.

Before qualifying, I thought for sure we were going to have a Broom/Wicker vs Watson runoff. With so many Republicans qualifying, there's an outside chance we end up with a Broom vs Wicker runoff. The next few months are going to be tremendously interesting.

But with that said, I would be fairly shocked if Broom didn't reach a runoff now that there are so many candidates in the race. I just have a hard time seeing a scenario in which the incumbent doesn't get a solid 30%+ of the vote, and with so many candidates, that will more than likely be enough.

With Carter jumping in, Watson is going to have a very tough time raising money.

Carter can self finance, and is friendly with damn near every wealthy person in the Parish.

Believe it or not, plenty of black folks believe SWB hasn't done enough for their community.

Marcelle is as street as it gets, and will outperform expectations.

Carter will have the $ to get on TV. Watson will not. Carter will get the moderate vote that Wicker was positioning for.

Marcelle vs Carter in a very interesting runoff. I got it as a tossup between those 2.

As scary as that is, it’s not unfathomable in this day in age.

Marcelle would do more damage than Broome has in her first month.

J. P. Morrell is gearing up to run against Latoya. He’ll have JBE’s backing.

I would bet quite a bit of money against this, but I very well could be wrong. This is going to be a shitshow

Deals are hatched to payoff in the future. In the meantime they get all the attention they crave while in office. It's a win now, win bigger later strategy. It is no accident how wealthy these fricks become in so short of time.

Is Piazza serious? Does he legitimately think he can win?
