Never lived in Canada, but used to make trips to Thunder Bay when I lived close to the border. Pretty cool place.
Not Canada, but my first job after graduation was at a refinery in North Pole, Alaska for 18 months. That was plenty long for me

To defend LSU Pimp - Vancouver is part of BC so the ‘is’ is not a flagrant foul. Lol
Born and raised Vancouver - I am bias but it is such a beautiful city - would never move back though for a multitude of reasons.

Another thing, We weren't there during football season but I noticed that there was no ESPN in Canada. And the sports channel they had did not cover US sports at all.
It felt weird not knowing what was going on in sports. That may have changed by now but their TV was different than what I was used to.

I was born in Ottawa, lived there until the age of five when we moved back to the U.S. I have dual citizenship, so I have that going for me, which is nice.

ESPN [along with Bell Media - a telecommunications giant] owns TSN, which is one of the major sports networks in Canada, but obviously the programming schedules for TSN, TSN2, TSN3, etc. are catered to the local market so it’s definitely difficult to get access to a lot of sporting events.
CBB and CFB are televised a lot more than they used to be, but you only get to watch select games. Although, the CBB/CFB programs who have a Canadian player on the roster get priority coverage (Andrew Wiggins, RJ Barrett, etc.) with the two big networks [TSN and SportsNet].

Yeah, I was just up river past Ogdensburg. I spent many days Boating and camping along 1000 islands. With Ottawa or Montreal just right up the road.

Worked in both Edmonton and Calgary. Edmonton has always improved over the years, but can’t compete with Calgary. Gorgeous city with a great downtown.
The local beer scene is incredible in Alberta. I burn through way too much money in booze when I travel for work up there.

Montreal has better looking girls in my opinion. At least from what I saw going out and in public. Saw too many blue hair wildebeests in Toronto last time I went. It could of just been a coincidence.

My grandmother was Canadian and had dual citizenship. I tried a few years ago to see if I could get dual citizenship, but since she is dead it didn't seem possible. I was pretty bummed. Not sure why.

It's kind of cool, I guess, if anything pops off here in the states I can bounce to Canada. It has drawbacks, particularly when traveling. Every time that I travel internationally, without exception, I get pulled out of line for additional security checks. Happened in Rome and London. Got paged over the airport PA in Iceland as soon as our plane landed and led to a room upstairs for an interview and bomb swipe. I guess, like other dangerous international spies, having two passports is a red flag.

Canada is like four different countries. The Maritimes are bleak and backward. Toronto is an international city-state. The prairie provinces are full of good ole baws. BC looks toward Asia.

I have never lived there (born there but no memory of living there), but I have Canada to thank for my skiing/snowboarding addiction. I went to Montreal one winter to visit a relative. I learned to ski in -10F weather and had the time of my life. My addiction eventually brought me to Idaho (had never lived outside of the southeast previously) where I can ski every day in the winter and early spring (at least before the coronavirus).
