Who here has done Heroin or fentanyl? How did you justify trying it?

I don’t really understand the justifications that people give for people who go down the heavy/hard drug route.
It’s like people who justify robbery because “maybe it was to feed their family.”
What would have to happen in your life for you to take up a gun and go to a liquor store to rob the liquor store owner for cash…”to feed your family “?
What is your justification for saying I want to tempt fate and do a highly addictive destructive drug?

I did fentanyl about 6 weeks ago. Only the one time though and haven’t touched it since.
It was about 10 minutes before surgery, but it was still fentanyl.

I think that’s something that someone who has never done it could understand
Everyone has their own demons, need for acceptance or whatever it was that led them down that path
I try not to judge & be thankful that my family has never had to deal with those issues

Does smoking opium count? Because I've done that and it's pretty amazing.
Never put a needle in my arm though. I also don't think many people seek out fentanyl. They just buy something else that is laced with it and they don't know it's in there.

Most people I know who’ve had problems (no one close) started with an injury with chronic pain then opioid medication, then street pills, then heroin.

So you think most heroin addicts just up and decide one day that they want to stick a needle in their arm and get fricked up? I've never done it, but I don't think it's that simple

Weed, meth, coke, ice, blotter acid, qualudes, tuinals and percocets in my 20's, well 30's for the ice,, but not since. But no heroin or fentanyl

A lot of people don’t even know they are taking fentanyl. A lot more people that take it don’t justify it, they are addicted. If you don’t understand addiction you will never understand why they do the things they do. It’s not as easy as simply to “just say no” for them.

I don’t understand how people like you don’t understand. They start out on pills for whatever reason. Injury, recreation. They get hooked. The pills run out. They go to heroin of fentanyl. The end.
