No plumbing company is going to drive to someone’s house and only charge 40 dollars. It doesn’t add up. A minimum charge is more than 40 bucks.

Yeah they 100% bullshitted her out of $300 to do a leak test. Plus they give out free estimates, so thats their problem that they didn't even try to find the problem but went the $1400 route. Dude came by and said he put out some stuff to see if the pipes were leaking under the house, which I already told her there was no leaks under the house prior to these scammers. Of course she falls for it but when I go under there is no signs of anything they did.

Again she was just calling around trying to get prices, not get conned. Clearly if the pipes aren't leaking in or under the house, then it is leaking from the city connection to the pipes that come up to the house, which was about a 50ft run.

B&D plumbing. Fairly priced and prompt. Would hire again.

This is the second time no water came out of the kitchen sink faucet. We have a single handle faucet. The cold water side runs find but when I put it on the hot side nothing comes out. Also, when I use the kitchen sink for a while the dishwasher sometimes starts to back up.

Could be something as simple as changing out the hot water connection to the sink. Those flex hoses don't last too long and need to changed, could be clogged up. If not that, then maybe something with hot water heater.

I would at least check the hot water that comes out of the wall and connects to the sink. First turn off the hot water valve that comes out of the wall, and then disconnect the hose from the sink and then get a bucket. Put hot water hose in the bucket and turn valve on and see if water comes out and how much pressure. My dad had some major trash in those that connects the hot and cold to the main sink outlet and just replacing it fixed all the problems, which is very minimum flow. If it is something else then a plumber would figure it.

AttaBoy Plumbing, Ronnie Marino, and Brian Leger.

You’re going to pay, but you’re going to get quality work done right.

Agree, they re-plumbed an entire house for me, very reasonable, quality work.

Roto Rooter BR.

Have had them to a few different sites and they are fantastic. Small issues to breaking concrete and all done top shelf.

You are welcome.

Had almost exactly this experience from American Plumbing in Baton Rouge. Crooks man.

I have learned over the years honest people are hard to find. People don’t know how to troubleshoot these days. It is replace and if it doesn’t work, the excuse is that piece of part was bad also. I have called them out a couple times (A/C work). If you can find a company to come and give free estimates without committing, I would suggest to go that route. Like someone mentioned, YouTube has a ton of videos on most subjects.

There’s some rubber gaskets and springs in there that go out and need replaced. Look up your model number and you can buy them. I highly recommend only getting OEM as the Dayco and other generics are not great in my experience.

or you can just replace the entire cartridge.

B & B Faucet Repair Parts on florida Blvd will have anything you need (o rings/cartridges, ect.)

upstairs shower valve was sticking, replaced for less then $30

Neighbor had the same issue, cost him $300+ from a plumber

but Marino or Louis plumbing would be who i would call if i cant handle it myself

Actually it would be cheaper just to buy a new faucet then call a plumber.... you will be paying $85+/hr with a 2 hr min + parts

Depends on the model. Some have cartridges and some have gaskets/ springs. I’m not a plumber but I think they either have one or the other. Cartridges are more popular on showers and gaskets/ springs on faucets in my limited experience. But yes, they do the same thing and both go out over time.

Depends on what you want done. I like Ed the Plumber for any type of repair, but I don't know if I'd use him to re-pipe a house or do rough in stuff for new construction. He might be awesome at those things too, but I don't know.

I've used RooterMan and B&D Plumbing. Had fine experiences with both companies.
