My wife loves purses, specifically Hermes. She played the game at the right time and has been able to buy quota purses for almost 10 years now. She gets two allocations for quota purses each year. She buys them, carries them for a season and sells them at a healthy profit which she uses to buy the next ones plus some other non-quota items like jewelry, scarves, or clutches. She sells all the quota bags (Birkin and Kelly models) except the one she bought because she won the lottery (harder than Masters tix) and got a leather appointment at the Sevres store. It is a basic black Kelly 50 but it is her favorite bag due to the circumstances.

Vebelen goods are arguably shallow in nature, but I love my watches and we have both figured out how to make our interests in them essentially free over time.

Funny enough, my first two paying jobs were "sweeping floors" at Gene Fulton's and Bud Moore's shops. I worked at each two days a week after school for $3.35 an hour and all the education I could suck up.

You dumped perfectly good bacon and now your life spends all the bacon! Karma!

Are you living below your means? Are you regularly investing in cash generating assets? Aligned on financial goals, retirement plan and timeline?

If Y, carry on with that fine carrying item.

If N, might want to not let friends dictate your financials.

I go to Mexico a few times a year. They have cheap knockoffs, but they also have some really good fakes.

Anyone who would spend more than a hundred dollars on a bad is a moron. Same for a watch.

I’ve never once noticed a woman’s purse and never will.

I married my right. My wife had an acquaintance who spent like 30k to redesign her closet to show her purses and was so ridiculous showing it off.

Wife got home and was like, what a moron

I remember that. You’re the guy who threw away bacon to prove a point.

That was stupid.

We must be the same age, bc I remember that minimum wage.

I worked at the LSU entomology lab in a work-study job for that rate.

That particular purse was more than what I spent on my truck brand new back in 2010. Absolutely nuts but a woman's vanity is an amazing thing
