Mine loses literally every day. Every single one. I set it to 75 or so during the day and around 4-5 every day it starts ticking up. Usually levels out around 78 or 79, and takes FOREVER to get back down. I set it at 71 at night and sometimes it takes until 3 or 4 in the morning before it catches up and finally shuts off for a few minutes. It’s insane. I’m surprised it hasn’t shot itself in the head yet.

Install more ceiling fans. I can see two fans spinning from where I sit, installed fans in every room including kitchen and bathrooms. It's a ridiculous amount of fans but its nice and chilly in here.

Fans are good if you’re sitting under them. Otherwise just wasting electricity.

This was our exact problem for the last 3 summers, a $300 window unit in the living room from June - September helps the house stay the temperature set on the thermostat.

20 degree differential is essentially what most units that are properly sized can handle efficiently. I’m running 76 and 77 during the day. Just had mine repaired for a capacitor going bad.

It’s like people are using the lowest temp as a dick measuring contest. I’m 6’2 190lbs and I feel comfortable at 75-76degF while awake. I don’t want the house at 69. Sounds terrible

I was referring to the people measuring their dicks based on how high they had it set. “I keep mine at 75, you must be fat if you need it lower”

Ours is keeping the house around 75-77 during the day. Our BR faces west.
Went out to Lowe’s and grabbed blackout curtains and sheers.
Big difference

4 or 5 degree difference.

Highly recommend.

MY cousin got his attic sprayed and added about 6 inches of insulation and he said it made a huge difference.

My A/C is running continually and can't get the house below 75. Thermostat is set at 72.

The HVAC baw that comes by and does maintenance on my system always says that your a/c is only designed to maintain a temp within 25° of the outside ambient temp. In other words, if it’s 101° outside, you’re wasting time and energy setting your thermostat below 76°. Take it for what it’s worth, but I’ve found it to be true, for the most part.

I said frick it and sat the AC to 76/78 during the day and 70 at night. It surprisingly doesn't take long to cool down, but I leave all lights off and shades drawn during the day.

Close off any vents in rooms you don’t use often, and close the doors to them. Bathrooms, laundry, and so on.

why don't they do that on houses much anymore?

ETA-- and why would an HOA care if you have turbine vents?

75 is about what ours is doing. When I get up at 5am the house is colder than a witches tit.

be careful with simple green and aluminum baw. I would not recommend.

I already have blown insulation in my attic, but probably could have more.
