One of my childhood friends died early last year. I hadn't seen him in ages, but I remembered those days around junior high when we were hanging out.

This kind of thing ages you but you don't realize it till later.

That dude was damned brilliant. He was destined to die because of drugs, no doubt. But I'd love to see what else he could have come up with, comedy-wise.

Not that it was surprising, but seemed like Scott Weiland would be on your list.

Cobain stays off because that sticks a bit more. He makes sense to omit.

Anthony Bourdain is a decent entry.
