So all of the cries about the debt from November 2024 to February 2025 was virtue signaling?
I have no problem with government spending....now....read what I am about to type very slowly so you and everyone else can understand.....
I work for the government however my department is severely underfunded. If you would see what our operating budget is you wouldn't believe it.
If that 'DOGE' money that the found went into actual local municipalities you would likely have a nice city.
However we are constantly fighting with council about spending money on critical things. Im in an essential department and we are told to constantly cut corners or find a cheaper way. That thinking almost always leads to a project being more expensive.

What part of "privately funded" are you retards not understanding?
Serious question. I can break it down for you if you're having trouble

judging from Trump's way of doing things, it probably won't be by increasing the debt.
That wall, tho.

Would you like it if it was architecural perfection? And if so, can you MS Paint what that looks like for us left brained losers?

I’m honestly still rolling around how I feel about a triumphal arch as a gateway to a cemetery, but I appreciate that’s getting ticky tack. Ignoring that, sure, as long as it’s actually privately funded and doesn’t prominently list those funders as though they are sports sponsors.

Nope

I don’t know why people are so against this. I think it looks nice and is fitting for the 250th. Plus it serves as a symbolic gateway to our most treasured national cemetery.
It’s privately funded so what’s the issue?

The irony of someone who never served in the military asking for a monument named after himself in our national (and almost exclusively military and military affiliated) cemetery is not lost on me.
As if it’ll actually be named for him

I think it's mostly architectural preference disputes at this point. We're working through them.
I bet Trump would be open to suggestions from the people, since he's the people's president.

Beside it being totally worthless, I suppose.
I think hes the only one who cares about it.

Jokes about my artistic talents (of which I have none) aside, I’m willing to withdraw my objections, even the triumphal arch at a cemetery bit, if we can get a guarantee that Trump’s name won’t be anywhere on or around the monument. Think he’d take me up on that?

It’s the same people who tried to cancel the Betsy Ross flag and National Anthem.

All monuments are “worthless”. If we’re going to build something for the 250th, which I in no way oppose, what’s the issue.
Tons of nations have something similar commemorating a similar occasion.
It could be way way worse. What specifically is your issue with it? Or will we just oppose everything next July because Trump planned it.
