UL easily.

When people want to have fun in Ruston they go to Shreveport or Monroe.

Better question? What's the worst accent for a slam-piece to have? That cringe-worthy flat bayou accent or the country bumpkin drawwwwl?

LOL of the Cajun haters in this thread

Lafayette>>>>>Ruston (bars, nightlife, actual stuff to do, etc.)

It’s not even close.

If by college experience you mean having fun and partying then it was certainly ULL. Now it has changed a ton since I was there and from what I can tell the partying is dead.

+1.

Sal's Saloon may be older than ULL or Tech.

I think the country bumpkin is worse

That fat “country girl” CNA from a town like Jonesboro or Kentwood accent is the worst

Jonesboro or Kentwood

These accents aren't even close. Jonesboro is North LA while Kentwood is on the I-12 corridor.

If by "college experience" you mean chronic inebriation and general debauchery, ULL wins hands down.

It seems like Ruston could have a lot of potential to be a nice, small college town (like a lesser Oxford); however, it doesn’t even come close, and is overall a shitty place.

Also, to say that Lafayette is a commuter school and Louisiana Tech isn’t is laughable. Those students haul arse back to Monroe and Shreveport as soon as class let’s out.

Louisiana Tech had a huge Greek emphasis.

Ruston is a nice quiet little town but if you drive after 11p, you are presumed drunk until proven otherwise.

Small town Nazi police force

This is unfortunately true about Ruston P.D. & their tactics are borderline illegal. The city of Ruston has come a long way since I was there in the 90's but still has a long way to go. I loved my college experience at Tech & wouldn't trade it for anything. I just did a 180 by moving straight to New Orleans after college & loved it as well. Way too much.

The only reason Tech isn't is because it's in the middle of B-F-Frickin-E.

Even from the surface, I don't see how anyone could say Tech when it's in the middle of NE Louisiana with nothing around. I mean, frick, Lafayette has NOLA 2 hours away, Baton Rouge an hour. Even if you think Laffy isn't that great, it's hard to argue that Ruston has better shite within a short drive than Lafayette does.

ULL if you're going to school for the bar scene. Tech for all other reasons.
