One is in the middle of nothing, in a shite city.

One is in a cool city that is important to state economy and is on interstate.

Festivals, parties, girls., basically college fun, .Lafayette by a MILE.

Education value?...I would think ULL in certain areas, Tech in others

Tech is near Atkansas....who needs to know more

The answer depends primarily on what your looking for.

If you want a more academically rigorous education with a more "small town vibe" then choose Tech.

The only downside is if you are not really into small town culture. There is generally less to do outside of campus (as compared to Lafayette/Baton Rouge, etc.)

Most people on here prefer places like Ruston.

If you want a more urban college experience with your standard fare city/night life then Lafayette would be the better experience.

La Tech in every single way:

-Greater Greek scene: participation as well as parties
-Actual college bars that don't have post college aged locals hanging out like it's the greatest experience of their lives week in week out.
-Superior atheltics
-Stronger good ol boy system, particularly in quality job hook ups.

Ruston is nothing BUT a college town. If you want a big city experience go to Tulane. If you want an experience that includes good academics and enough college dive bars to keep a poor kid entertained every weekend, Tech is great for that. ULL is an overgrown community college in Lafayette.

I had a great time visiting friends at ULL but never went to Ruston. Seems like it would suck since it is so out the way

Honest question, how on Earth is the Louisiana Tech endowment just shy of $100 million?

For a quick comparison:

-Loyola has $234.5 million.
-UL-L has $153.2 million.
-Centenary, with a current enrollment of 630 (undergraduate and postgraduate), has $138.5 million.

How is this a good thing? It's always described as negative.

Only one of those require you to live in Ruston so there’s that

I’d rather live in Iran
