DENHAM SPRINGS — FBI agents spent nearly the entire day Tuesday executing what appeared to be a search warrant at a Denham Springs nonprofit, removing boxes from the business and loading them into a van as agents moved in and out of the building.

The activity unfolded Tuesday morning, May 19, at St. Amant’s DCH on Business Park Avenue. St. Amant’s DCH is a nonprofit organization. DCH stands for Daycare Home Food Program.

UWK witnessed agents carrying boxes out of the building and loading them into a white van parked outside. Multiple people were seen entering and leaving the business throughout the day, including personnel wearing FBI gear, badges and firearms on their sides.

The FBI did confirm to UWK that agents were at the business Tuesday.

“The FBI is present near Business Park Avenue in Denham Springs conducting court authorized law enforcement activity. There is no threat to public safety,” the agency said in a statement.

The phrase “court-authorized law enforcement activity” is commonly used when federal agents are executing a warrant. In this case, the large number of boxes removed from the business and loaded into a van suggested agents were likely serving a search warrant.

UWK also reviewed St. Amant’s DCH’s most recent financial report, which nonprofits and businesses registered with the Louisiana Secretary of State are required to file annually. The report listed no findings or issues with the organization’s financial records.

UWK reached out to St. Amant’s DCH for comment, but only a recorded line answered the call.

No additional details have been released at this time.

Despite all of the publicity, these day care centers are popping up everywhere. There’s one on O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge that looks sketchy…1 car in the parking lot and never see any kids.

After seeing this story I looked up this place. It’s not a daycare. It’s a nonprofit that provides food/meals to people who take care of other children in their home. I had no idea that was a thing. (Providing free food to them, not home based daycares).

At least one places lists the above as the executive director and CFO.

It has a total of 11 employees, and it gets between $6 million and $6.5 million in program funds from the feds according to same site.

Considering the FBI is raiding their offices, maybe it isn't a thing
