2008 snowstorm was during my first semester at LSU. It was around finals if I remember correctly. I remember leaving a final or a study session in the middle of it.

2008 snow was my last clinical day in college. Left an hour earlier than I usually did, and it snowed the whole way to the hospital. It was a blizzard. It ended up being over 6 inches where I lived. I couldn’t believe school wasn’t canceled.
2017 was my kids first snow, so that one was special. I was only able to experience it with them for a few minutes that morning before work. Unfortunately, watched it from my work window most of the day.
2021 least amount of snow, but work/school was closed the longest. Ice was the issue with this one. A few flurries. During this one, I taught my kids how to look for individual snowflakes, and to look up close. They’re actually shaped like ??. Just like when you cut them out of paper.

The 1989 snow is my first ever memory. I was 3 months shy of 4 at the time. Living in Meraux.

2017, 2009, and 2008 in the Franklinton area had more snow than Western Washington Parish will probably get tomorrow.

88 for me too. I was 5 years old. It was the first snow I ever saw.

The 88 and 89 as I was in BR for those

This one for me. I had an organic chem final that morning and they refused to cancel class. I was waiting for the bus out on brightside because I wasn’t about to drive in that stuff. Buses weren’t running so I got in my truck and literally slide out of my complex and went to class. Got an A

The thing about both 1988 and 2008 was that NOBODY seemed to see it coming, namely the weather people. I recall the masses being shocked.
Especially in 2008. All the kids went to school like normal that morning and by 10am, there was more than 2 inches on the ground.

It snowed a little bit in 1968 too. About half an inch.

Was not living here at the time. So, it didn't snow in BR on Christmas 2004?

There were flurries but no accumulation. I remember running inside to tell my parents but they didn’t believe me

Lived in da parish at the time and it was the most snow i had ever seen in person. Apparently the last time it had snowed there on Christmas day was the year before hurricane Betsy.

1 January 2002.
I'm almost positive it snowed in late Dec/early Jan 2000/2001. I remember walking out of The Varsity and it was coming down.

'88 for sure. I remember our elementary school hit the pause button and all the teachers took us students outside to play in the snow. Parents came early to pick all the kids up. Also had the cutest samoyed/lab puppy wander over to our house later that day to take refuge. I asked my mother if we could keep it, and she walked it back to the neighbor's to ask. When she came back empty handed, I was disappointed, but then she opened her coat and the puppy was nestled inside. Grew up with her spanning 18 years and will always be one of the best dogs I ever had.

People forget about that one. It snowed its arse off right as the Sugar Bowl was ending.
Jan 02, Dec 08, and Dec 17 and the biggest BR snows I can remember and all three were substantial

‘88 was the first snow in my lifetime. I think I was in 2nd grade. They announced during lunchtime that we were early dismissing because of the snow. I remember the sky being pretty dark for noon. Snowed that evening and I think we still had a little bit left 2 days later.
Nothing close to this.
‘17 snow. I killed a deer and snowboarded down the levee with my 5 year old son. Will never forget that amazing day.

89 because of what happened two days later.
First Christmas Eve in years that my dad was off work. Got called out to Exxon because he was on the unit fire brigade.

I was a freshman at LSU then. I recall the University Lakes freezing and people ice skating on them.

1988 was the first time I remember seeing snow in Baton Rouge.
I was in middle school taking an exam. We noticed it was snowing outside and kids started trickling out to go play. I turned in my exam unfinished (pretty sure I failed and DGAF) and went outside to play.
A literal cool story, bro.
I also remember a little snow on the morning after the Sugar Bowl when we beat the shite out of Illinois.

Yup. I remember being glad my parents were Yankees who knew how to drive in snow.
I guess the snow was a surprise since they suddenly decided to send us all home. I can't imagine them not cancelling school in advance if snow was forecast. It was such a treat that day.
I had played in snow only once before. We went to visit family in Ohio in the early 80s and I got to build a snowman but they had a freak heat wave on Christmas Eve and it all melted. I was not amused that the one chance I had at a White Christmas turned out to be the warmest Christmas on record in Cleveland. 66 toasty degrees. The next year they set a record low of -10. Go figure.
