I’ll never forget the snowfall of 88. I was coming back from Hammond to pick up this girl I had been seeing at the time who was living in a dorm on campus at LSU, and it had been dumping really good. The campus itself was absolutely gorgeous. It was dark at the time I rolled in to pick her up, and the white stuff covering everything really was something to see. The sight of snow from the street lights on campus, and the blankets of white covering everything really made campus even more special. It was also the first time I had really had a chance to drive in the snow and after hitting some black ice crossing a bridge on Perkins I almost lost it, but came in clutch in the end. I don’t remember much about the date, but I will never forget the sight of snow on campus at the time.

2008
I was in college. Left school and drove straight to my camp, hunted in the snow, made a real snowman. It was fun.

Grew up in Lake Charles. I think it was 1989 that we got down to ridiculous low temps and got a dusting of snow

Senior year of college. We were studying for finals in an engineering building and were pulling an all nighter when someone yelled out “It’s snowing!” We stopped studying and started making snowmen and having a snowball fight. The professors walked up to see a bunch of 21-23 year olds laughing out asses off and acting like children.
One professor from Ohio was giving a final that day and took attendance of everyone having a snowball fight and gave us all 5 points extra just because.

This one is the most memorable for me. I shot a good buck with my bow that morning in Baton Rouge. I remember the blood trail vividly. Froze my arse off because I didn't have enough clothing on.

Second most memorable for me. I'd just started dating my wife. I was living in BR and she was about an hour away. I'd driven over to have dinner with her and the roads all started getting shut down. Ended up staying at her place for 2 or 3 days, was fun. Snowstorm got me laid.

Insanely cold, and 2 days later Exxon blew up.

I was living in Hammond in 1988 when that freak snow came.
The little blue haired ladies got all excited, thinking we could be snow bound (2 inches) for a month, and immediately took off for Albertsons to stock up on hurricane food.
The tow trucks were busy most of the day pulling their cars out of the ditches

2021.
Our wedding got postponed due to COVID and this would've been close to our original wedding date. Lost power for 2.5 days and had no heat in our home. Our gas fireplace couldn't heat up the living room it was so damn cold. Ended up going to my grandfather's funeral that weekend. Got a call from the people who were supposed to deliver our cake (RIP Baum's) that there was no one at the reception venue to pick up our cake. Luckily our reception place is the one who paid for it and mistakenly didn't tell Baum's about the rescheduling, so it didn't cost me anything. I tried Dearman's for the first time that week and hated it. That whole week was a shite show.

I don’t remember when it snowed in 2021

I had graduated from LSU and got a job with Cameron Iron Works. I was working as a service hand as part of my training and flew an hour and a half south in the Gulf of Mexico to a rig. It snowed on the rig and the rig shutdown for a day or so. It was also my first time away from home for Christmas which took some adjusting to.

Same exact situation. Only need to add my final was at 8am. I didn’t get to enjoy it long.

This one because we got 6” here where I am that day. It was great.

1988. I was sitting in class at Istrouma middle magnet, staring out the window as usual and noticed what looked like soap suds drifting down over another building (each fllake was well over an inch and not what I thought snow should look like). I blurted out "what is that!?" and everybody crowded the window. I think it took the entire class, including the teacher close to a minute to figure out it was snowing. The school was quickly in a panic to get everyone on busses.
First time was the best. I've been chasing the dragon ever since.

Did you get to have snowday sex with her?

Possibly the one that isn’t listed.
1 January 2002.
I say this because for me it was long awaited. I got a small taste of snow in March of ‘93 then we had a couple of major busts during prime childhood, which made me very sad.
But the draught ended on the glorious night that LSU destroyed Illinois in the 2002 Sugar Bowl (2001 season).
We definitely had a couple of inches in Central. I had just turned 13 and had a blast.

Me too: snow of ‘88. Was a student at LSU then. It was the first time I remembered seeing it snow during the day as opposed to snowing overnight and just waking up to a white blanket on the ground with clear skies and seeing it melt all day. On that February day in ‘88 it was the opposite, started snowing in the early morning and snowed most of the day and accumulated nicely and stuck for about three days.

The 2008 event was more than 3-4 inches. I measured myself and it was around 8. It was like a blizzard going into work.

1988 for me was massive. I was in 4th grade and the whole school was going apeshit. We got early dismissed and in my memory, it seems like all the neighborhood kids must have literally stayed outside for the next 48 hours.
2008 was a big deal too but I was 30 so it was just bizarre. Still very memorable for me though.
2017 because it was my kids' first snow. They flipped out and it was a great family memory. My youngest though was just 1 so he's really hoping for it this next go round.
