This one has two layers. The first is a “speak of the devil and he shall appear” implication, either because the person is reflected by what was being talked about or is so opposed that they are inherently linked to that opposition. The second is an old IRC/chat room reference. It would literally say “MemphisGuy has entered the chat” when you got on.

Talking about a young girl being attractive? “Chris Hansen has entered the chat”. Say that someone is the biggest attention whore in the world? A frequent TD denizen might say “Paige Spiranac has entered the chat”.

It’s not a turn of phrase I use, but that’s what it means.

Not exactly what op was referring to but I can’t stand to hear people who never served a day in their lives try use military jargon.

I quit thinking new sayings were cool like 15 years ago. I have kid in college and I don’t think we speak the same language. And I’m only 43

Seems I hear a lot of younger females saying “bro” or “bruh”

Not sure why but it really gets under my skin.
