If we include robots, even prostitution might be in trouble.

For real or are you being sarcastic? I’d hate to be a young associate just starting out having to worry about this. Paralegals and assistants/secretaries, too. I think seasoned partners are safe and will be out before being in danger.
Yea It’s going to change the whole industry. Agree that current partner level lawyers and up are probably gonna be OK but a lot of shite is going to change really fast which is going to create a lot of risk and instability.

We already have plenty of automation in manufacturing.
The only jobs that AI will replace is basically allowing 1 person using AI tools to be more productive than 2 other people all doing the same job.
Any job that requires extensive research will be replaced. But I don’t see much else. Coders, researchers, data gathers can be replaced.
lol at Kindergarten teachers…yeah I’m sure parents will be lined up to send their kids to a school that has teaching robots

We keep getting called by potential clients who used AI tax programs this year and things are an absolute mess.

AI is like communism
Can handle basic things and us awful at complex things
Yet all we hear is the reason why it fails is because we don’t have enough if it.

What’s the end goal here? Humans just go through life dealing with computers non stop and at every turn, while the world is filled with unemployed people?

Automating all that will lead to substantial decreases in labor/production costs, allowing firms to pass on those savings to consumers in the form of lower prices
Are you joking, or are you 7 years old?

They may be allowed to pass savings onto customers, but none of them ever do.
Automation raises profits at the cost of quality. Nothing more.

Until other greedy capitalists come in and compete away their margins by lowering the price to consumers

The general thrust of what he is saying 100% accurate.
The industries he is referring to are maybe not the best to reference because they are all broken and not really pure free markets.

What happens when supply curves shift right?

A lot of the stuff in the bottom half of this chart (i.e., below CPI) is produced in industries with relatively higher degrees of automation. New cars have actually way undershot overall inflation which seems very hard to believe but I guess that’s what the data is. Also worth noting that until Sleepy Joe came in, inflation itself was actually pretty low and stable. So that’s pretty amazing. Then you have all of those electronics that have actually been decimated in terms of price, to the benefit of consumers.

We can sure use less lawyers. But we can’t replace food and beverage and cooks then I ain’t too concerned about the terminator.
