30 years is long enough.

I think the Buick Grand National is a safe pick. What others?

Suburban
Bronco
Grand Wagoneer
Blazer

Maybe the Buick RoadMaster and Lincoln Town Car have a future....but the Grand National is much more appreciated now.

Made until '83:

The foreigners just have us killed in this decade though: I'd love a 1980's Mercedes SL, BMW M3, Porsche 911 or 928, Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan Z, Mazda RX7, Acura Legend... even an old Honda Accord in great condition would be fun.

No cars made with plastic panels instead of metal will ever truly be a classic. It just doesn't feel right and always looks cheap and aged no matter how often its repainted.

Cars switched to plastic in the mid-80's.

That means early 80's cars can still be classics, but most late 80's cars cannot be.
