In this current weather? Shacked up with my college girlfriend in her dorm at UofA.

Not snowing but just 20 years ago in general? On a Friday night at this time we'd definitely be out somewhere doing something stupid

Probably in my childhood bedroom playing The Sims and watching “Comedy Central Presents” or listening to sad music because I was in middle school.

Starting a career change, trying to figure out how these idiots dress themselves in the morning without mutilating their appendages.

Still in the same field, and still wondering the same.

I had just come home from Iraq and was on a FEMA contract in Johnson Bayou and planning a wedding for the coming summer. It was close but we got it done before football season. Anniversaries have never made me miss a game.

Planning a night out, probably out to eat and then some bars and boozing.
Such fun, such a short place in time.

At this specific time? Probably drankin n druggin. And playing poker or dominoes. Like a caged animal. Damn I miss those days. What am I talking about, that’s exactly what I’m doing right now. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Building an award-winning business, considering retirement, thinking I had all the time in the world with her.

Early 2006 was still very much the post-Katrina/Rita period. I had just started my first job as a corporate tax accountant in July 2005, and everyone at the office was glued to the news. I even had strangers staying in my apartment for a while—a couple from New Orleans who had lost everything. He was a chef, she taught at LSU, and the one thing they managed to save was a signed Andy Warhol painting.

Same with me. I had just built a new house but had not moved in. I was still in my old house and the builders wife came to my office and told me she only had the clothes on her back (shorts/tshirt/flipflops). They moved into my new house until they could finish a spec house up enough to move in. So strangers (builders extended family along with the builder and his wife) lived in my house before I did.

Just moved into new house couple months before Katrina and it was the only house amongst 3 families that didn’t flood. So dealing with the aftermath of Katrina in Biloxi and 2 families living with us. Horrible
Maybe by January they moved out but can’t remember
