Stay in Brandon, Mississippi, or refuse to stay in a city that can’t provide water to a major city in the USA.

Stay in the hotels over there by the Renaissance Off Highland colony Parkway in Ridgeland. it’s a 10 minute drive to downtown Jackson.

That would be Pearl not Ridgeland

Thanks for the correction. There's a Marriott property there I stay at when I need to be in town. It has a hotel bar and there's a Waffle House and Popeye's nearby.

I’ve been there several times for work. Highland Colony Pkwy in Ridgeland is where you want to be. Several good hotels and tons of restaurants. From
the airport to Brandon on 35 is nice too, never stayed around there, just passed through several times to visit a buddy. Stayed near Bass Pro once, not terrible, but still a little sketchy.

Gotta be careful in Clinton. The hoodrats head west on 80 to the Walmart and Chik-fil-a in Clinton.

Go to either Madison or Flowood. I generally stay at the Hampton Inn off of Lakeland in Flowood.

Where do you need to go in the Jackson area. Jackson is no worse than Baton Rouge, so There is no need to be scared to go there. It is fairly decent size thought so you don’t want to stay 20 0r 30 miles from your destination.

Plenty of scary places there

Don't go into West Jackson -- ever

Aside from some very tiny pockets - notably Fondren by the Med school and Belhaven by the Baptist hospital -- don't go deep into Jackson. And even w/Fondren and Belhaven, don't go west of State St.

Convention Center

That’s not a great part of town, but as long as you are not walking around at night, you will be okay. I have attended some events at the convention center and they keep it pretty clean and safe around there. There is a Hilton garden inn that is very nice and historic. I think there is a Hampton Inn nearby as well, but I haven’t stayed there.

Pearl, Madison, Brandon or Flowood (Near Dogwood)are your best bets.

Try not to stay in Jackson if you can help it.
