We had a section of fence come down in a random rain band last week. Took the rest of the fence down to replace it all. Well, Apparently EBR will only pick up "pieces of fence" and not full fence panels.

The thought of a block bonfire in the street crossed my mind since fire is all the rage right now. But outside of that, where might one take around 140 feet of fence panels to dump? The landfill in north baton rouge seems to contradict themselves on what they actually accept.

You usually take the beekeeper suit off, put your rapier down and go to the bathroom

How old is the fence?

What kind of lumber is it made of ?

Does it have stuff growing on it ?

I have a friend who may come pick it up. He builds picture frames out of it.

You should probably put the rapier down before taking off the suit.

Dump it during the night near an I10 exit. The homeless will use it to build shelter from the elements.

With them it’s better to just show up. They’ll take it.

Just toss it on the pipeline and burn it. What could possibly go wrong?

Might have to split the panels up into smaller pieces but in EBR the woody waste pickup (IE "trash") happens once a week and they call in your location based on what they see during the previous garbage pickup.

If they can grab it with the tongs and get it into the truck it goes on trash day. White goods (old appliances) get picked up by a 3rd party contractor.

I've had piles of old fence material picked up no problem on trash day.

We tried that, and called twice for them to pick it up. We were denied and they left a note saying it's the homeowners responsibility.

Best guess is it's original to the house circa 1985. It's pretty beat up. Theres nothing growing on it. There were only 3 4x4s still in tact along a 75 foot span that were holding the full span up. The rest were rotted thru at the ground.

Have your wife create artisticish projects from fence pieces (ala pallets), post projects on social media, sell fence panels on Craigslist/FB marketplace, profit.

Or just burn that shite.

The dump in Sorrento will take them. It's roughly $60 something per pickup load. I'm in the process of redoing my fence (piecemeal), and what I've been doing is taking a sawzall and cutting the long fence sections in 36" pieces and just stacking it. You'd be amazed at how long of a fence you can fit in one pickup load.

Those old cedar Picket boards make perfect blue bird boxes, one box per board.
