Where Is The Closet For Your A/C Located Inside Your House?

Awhile back I asked the board where does everyone have their AC located outside.. I am about a year or two away from getting a new unit, just had the AC guy come give my unit a maintenance check..
Inside, the AC is located right next to the main bathroom and across the hall from the master bedroom.
For those who have a home that's 10 or less years old.. Is that a common area to locate the AC unit, inside?

This is how I know your house is small. Ballas have theirs in the attic.

Well, for you would the attic be better?

Old house was Built in 1974 and unit was in a closet in the hall.
New house was built in 1994 and it is in the attic.
If I had to guess I’d say attic is more common these days, but it may also depend on your floor plan, etc. etc.

My house is less than 900 sqft and has the AC in the attic

House was built in 1961
We have 8-10 ft pitched ceilings so unfortunately that leads to basically no attic, so unit is in hall closet somewhat closed to living room which makes tv watching not optimal

Christ on a cracker, this thread is pointless even by your standards.

Not familiar with an AC closet. We have several units. They’re located in the window of each bedroom.

do you hang your coats in the attic?

I think newer houses without an insulated attic space might have a unit installed within the conditioned building envelope (versus the 120+ degree attic). It makes good sense in my opinion. The duct work should also be within the conditioned envelope, but that is not always possible.
To answer the question, it is not common. Of course, very-knowledgeable residential contractors are also uncommon.

I just renovated my entire house built in 1961 and moved the new unit to the attic. It was in a closet in the hallway near the living room, so we gained a really convenient closet in the process.
