It seems like the majority of people on here would say Bawcomville, but I am not sure I could see myself living there after doing some research on the town.

Every other picture of Bawcomville is littered with confederate flags which I did not include bc of admins; however, this is a big reason as to why I think I could not live there. Where's the diversity?

On the other end of the spectrum, I currently live in New Orleans. While I do not live in the worst part of New Orleans, the entire city is still run by Teedy, we have multiple police forces that do not function, and our trash still gets picked up only once per week (if that even happens). There is also a pothole the size of Lake Ponchartrain in the middle of my street and nearby Jefferson Parish isn't all that (too bad I don't live one mile west to take advantage of JPSO services though). I would not say this is the best place to live either, so where is?

Personally, I think BR isn't that bad given that I grew up there. Aside from it being the most poorly designed city of all-time, I never had too many problems if I stayed home, and my neighborhood was safe enough to where I never had to lock any of the doors if I ever ventured out. Yet if I moved to BR again, I think I would quickly re-discover why I wanted to leave so badly in the past. I'm not the biggest Lafayette guy either - Not sure why everyone who lives there thinks its the greatest place on earth.

I am really excited to hear the feedback you guys have as I will have the opportunity to finally leave NOLA after this year, and I am looking forward to starting the next chapter of my life in a different part of Louisiana!

Note: Please do not name places out of Louisiana - If I wanted to know where the best place to live outside of Louisiana is then I would have asked.

The best place to live in Louisiana is near your family and friends. If you don't have any family and friends here, then why are you still here?

I don't think it's the best place on Earth by any stretch, but it's one of the best places to raise a family if you're going to stay in Louisiana.

If you work in or near BR or NOLA, the best places are near the boarder in Mississippi. Idc that you didn’t want that answer, it’s the truth.

Honestly this is not a bad suggestion. I really enjoy Bay St. Louis and the Pass. We should really consider annexing it from Mississippi since it is basically just an extension of South Louisiana.

However, I will take a hard pass because climate change is here and I'm not getting fricked by a hurricane as soon as I move.

Who wants to make that commute? Easily 2-3 hours per day at best.

No shite Sherlock. No place in Louisiana is "that" bad if you never leave your house.

Lafayette is probably not the best place to live, but it's 10x better than NOLA or BR.
