Lafayette is probably not the best place to live, but it's 10x better than NOLA or BR.

One has the Saints and one has the LSU Tigers while Lafayette has USL.

Any of those streets in Louisiana, Costa Rica are probably okay to live on and within walking distance of a bar.

This baw gets it.

I’ve got 18 acres out in the “country” but I’m only 15 minutes away from good restaurants and stores. Just an hour out of New Orleans if I want to suit up in the bullet proof vest and hit a Pels game or whatever. But sitting here on my porch surveying my grandkids’ motocross track and my snake-catching woods, I still feel like I’m in the middle of nowhere.

who gives a frick when the ones with the "good" sports teams has 25 times the murders too?

OP: north shore, ruston, south lafayette(youngsville), st francisville, praireville, st george maybe, south lake charles maybe

not a lot to choose from and all depends on if you have family, where you work, what kind of commute you are comfortable with and what all you are looking for.

if a good football program is the basis for a 'nice town', then move to Tuscaloosa

Definitely not False River, St. Francisville, or Madisonville. Those places are all terrible. Stay away from them.

Imagine living somewhere so crappy that you had to count on a make believe sport to make it worthwhile
