Why? Because he places the same moral value on the life of child in the womb as one outside the womb.

Anti-abortion groups are claiming the law will be misused, so I don’t know.

You know damn well it will be and it has nothing to do with only being performed in dire circumstances. Who’s to say that dire circumstance is the mom just having anxiety?

And I would assume very liberal MA already has laws in place where a woman can get a late term abortion if her health is at risk. Even FL allows that.

This is to push people to accept no limits on abortion whatsoever. It’s sick and MA is one fricked up state.

If you cant see the rhetoric around abortion changing before our eyes, I don't know what to tell you.

It was "safe, rare, and legal" at first. Now you have women getting cakes and drinking with their friends on the anniversary of their abortions (this is real, look it up).

In the Netherlands they just euthanized a 2 year old boy because he had some serious health issues.

If a "fetus is just a clump of cells" there is no logical or scientific point at which it suddenly becomes a human, therefore abortion should not be restricted at all in their view.

The reasons used for getting abortions are becoming increasingly disgusting as well. Women are doing it based on the sex of the baby now.

I think that the pro life movement is a liberal psyop to fracture the conservative base

If conservatives came out and said “we agree with Richard Nixon on the subject of abortion” the libtards heads would explode

And yet some of the most evil people to ever walk this earth were those who frowned upon or didn’t believe in religion.

Forget the abortion debate. This right here is the real fricking travesty.

I had to look that up.

The Massachusetts law is intended to address the issue of late stage diagnosis of medical issues that could affect the health of the mother and maybe in some cases diagnosis of severe retardation of the fetus.

It gives trained professionals the freedom to treat these probably rare cases of late stage serious issues involving the fetus, mother, or both.

Before the law was passed, women had to go out of state to get help in that type of situation.

Religious people just hate facts for some reason.

Some addition to the OP:

I am not religious.
While I am against abortion, I am also somewhat ambivalent about the legality of first trimester abortions and the morning after pill.
I consider myself prolife and am against the death penalty and abortion as I do not trust government to be the arbiter of when life should begin and end.

That being said, I will never unstand the vile and cravenly way some cheer the idea of a late term abortion. My wife had a 7 month pregnancy where it was spent on bedrest and in the hospital. We had what was then new 3d ultrasounds being done weekly When you see the 20 week baby with all their features and working organs and the doctor says it is more likely than not you will lose it, you do not say it is just a fetus. It is your child. Yes, that child is totally dependent on the mother's body. So what. That is the way it is.

By the way, even born at 32 weeks everyrhing turned out well.

As to the Massachussetts law. Board-certified OB-GYNs and neonatologists contended that later abortions are medically unnecessary for maternal health crises—emergency delivery (e.g., C-section in minutes) is safer and faster than multi-day abortion procedures, which carry higher complication risks. They also noted that many fetuses are viable around or after 22–24 weeks with modern care, and prenatal diagnoses can be uncertain or show a spectrum of severity rather than clear lethality. The prior exceptions already covered serious cases, so the change mainly expanded discretion rather than filling a clear medical gap. This new law even allows late third trimester on a healthy pregnancy.

And I make a potential connection because when society preaches that you see a group as less than fully human, it can slowly affect the psyche of the population.

Yes, because no one in the history of the world ever wanted to kill children prior to legalized abortion…

You aren't sure what the desire to kill babies has to do with views on medical procedures used only for killing babies?

This has been the “excuse” the left has used for late term abortion. Problem is……this scenario is almost never the case. Let’s see the numbers. In an industry that functions (supposedly) on evidence based research, let’s see the numbers. Let’s see the case studies. Where’s the evidence?

Everything you said is spot on…….and this part is the part that really matters as this will happen more often then “a procedure to save a mothers life” or “severe mental retardation or birth defects”, but those numbers never see the light of day,
