I wouldn't step foot around those lakes after dark.

Downtown

Downtown has improved but is still very sketchy outside of hot areas. Hell, even the hot areas have questionable characters hanging around at night.

BR has things to do if you really pay attention to events and get involved. It’s not as bad as these fools make it out to be besides the traffic. That really is a big problem.

Nah, man. Go take a nighttime stroll down O'Neal, Siegen, College, etc. Baton Rouge is horrendous outside of just a few pockets.

Ok, but that doesn't mean that plenty of other people dont and as long as you aren't a fine arse girl, you would be fine.

But there aren't many cities, especially capital cities, where women are safe running by themselves at night.

And of course I'm missing some, highland Park, the one by the zoo that I forget it's name, has golf course and disc golf course.

What, million dollar homes, a university, and a park surrounded by the Garden District?

The only crime that happens there is crimes against nature that I do to your mom.

Every single city in the US has shady places within a few blocks of the nice places to go.

In all seriousness, I use my Neighborhood BREC Park almost every day. It’s very, very nice and very well- maintained. It’s a huge quality of life thing for me.

We do too. Kids will ride bikes and I will fish. I catch as many rainbow trout as I can every damned year, and we eat fried perch that come out of brec lakes at least once a week.

There's a reason we can't have nice things and I'm sure you know what it is.

I disagree, I cannot remember the last time I heard of a crime happening there. I use to cycle around the lakes all the time, nothing but people jogging, riding, skating, and walking, late into the evening.

Howell park is a pretty nice park. If you can figure out why you can't use it, all your other questions are answered.
