Where does a riverboat casino rank on your most depressing places list?

Top 3 for me, only behind Ferriday, LA and your local DMV office.

Why? I guess you suck at poker or blackjack or craps. You must of lost a lot of money. Say, $20?

It's definitely behind Walmart on Black Friday. Once with the wife and never again.

I thought I was the only person who got depressed feelings at casinos. I've never been to Vegas nor do I care for gambling. But I go a few times a year to local places in BR. There's always a few patrons I see who bring me down briefly because I can't help but notice they should not be spending money there. Then I do a shot and beer and go watch my friends lose money.

Tied for first place with nursing homes.

I once took a CE program at the casino in Vicksburg and had to walk through that shite hole casino to get to the meeting room. Dante' would have been proud to see the hell that was the gaming floor.

It's pretty low. Only the infusion center at OLOTL, Fairgrounds and OTB are below them.

I waited 2 hours for a table at the Belle once. Friends were desperate to go there bc "it's cheaper than Laberge". After watching people save seats and some tables be half empty but "taken" we got pissed off. Didn't want to get shot, so we decided to leave and never go back. Laberge is worth the extra cost

Casinos are evil places. It's a disgrace to the state that crooked arse Edwin Edwards allowed them here.

I spend a fair amount of time in casinos, but only in the poker room.

The slots area always seems to be heavily populated by people with oxygen tanks and a lack of hope.

I used to work at a casino. Yes there are people who do not belong there. But when I play there (and it has been awhile), I bring a set amount of money, leave my credit card at home, and play for enjoyment, a night out.

Why? It's not the government's place to tell people where they can or can not lose or spend money.

It's personal responsibility and Darwinism. Plus, those suckers that lose it all at the tables and slots give revenue to a state that definitely needs it.
