You didn't even explain your own.

My position is that we need to reopen the economy ASAP because we are rapidly reaching a point where having the economy locked down will cause a massive depression that will cause far more misery and death than the Coronavirus could ever hope.

Stock market way up today, though. Investors seem to think we've found the bottom ...

Pretty much where I am.

Start opening things back up in stages starting April 18th-20th (depending on if you want to begin on Saturday or Monday) and spend two weeks ramping back up to full speed.

Where? NOLA? Open it up on May 1. This assumes data keeps trending our way. Restaurants open, folks go back to work, and pre-school through middle school opens. Still no large crowds.

hard for me to say.

I'm lucky i am able to work from home and keep my job. But that luck could run out soon. Where is line is preventing deaths and not ruining peoples lives in the process. I also have a significant portion of my family and friends working in the medical field and the stories of what is actually going on in hospitals is downright scary.

I'm sympathetic to both sides. I do think if more people would have taken this more seriously in the beginning we would not have had to go as long as we have. If we see the curve starting to flatten in the next month i think we should try to slowly start to reopen.

Should have never taken people’s freedoms away in the first place. If you wanna stay home by all means stay home... although I’m not sure how your gonna make a living that way.

Schools are not coming back this semester. That ship has sailed. Kids are home through the summer, which causes a major economic disruption regardless of whether parents employers open back up or not.

open it up now. Its got a 97% survival rate. Not marginalizing the deaths, but there is a distinct group at a higher risk. Make those most at risk self-quarantine. Everyone else can decide for themselves.

The deleterious effects on the economy will affect a far greater number of people than the virus is/has/will. Sorry but that includes dead people. And whether we overwhelm the healthcare system now- which is still yet to be seen as a universal phenomenon- or we overwhelm it with a depression era economy, we're going to have a negative effect.

Open up like college freshman's legs at a frat party

Let people make their own choices. Inherent in choice is some amount of risk, we take risks every day - walk out your front door, drive, eat fast food, fly on an airplane, walk into a doctor's office etc. In this country we are CITIZENS, not SUBJECTS. We are all given the freedom to weigh the good/bad and make a judgment call. You're worried about Covid19 or are immunocompromised? Stay home, nobody will fault you for that. The rest of us who accept that getting a bad sickness is just another part of life can go on about our business.

Are you so afraid of death that you're unwilling to live?

Shutting down the world (or at least our country) would seem to be a one time deal, which is the only logical explanation for a longer shutdown.

People may be OK with this shutdown because they have faith that the government will make them whole (we'll see how that works out) but no way people will tolerate a second, or multiple, shutdown(s).
