The old ones used to have a small cap to let air in, the new ones use nozzles that let the air in. Can you still buy the old style to vent while you pour instead of holding the red tab down?

Got an old spout from my old man and replaced the one on my new cam.

He had a spent shotgun shell on the spout to keep the end of it plugged. I left it like that

This is what I do. Been using a funnel for years. Works great.

Jegs, Summit Racing, and so on sale the type you are wanting. They even have screw on caps with a section of clear Tygon type tubing with a cap that is flexible so you don’t need a funnel.

look at the link, most spouts you buy come with vents. you drill a hole, snap it into the hole, then open it when you are ready to pour

Best suggestion yet. I have a friend who's wife likes to go to garage/yard sales. He's told her to buy an old fashioned metal gas can or a plastic one w/ a built in funnel whenever she sees one. I have an old plastic gas can that's a hand me down that's highly valued. And if you want the story of why our gas cans are so bad you can read it here.

Get speed cans as several posts below show. I have 8 VP cans and they are super easy to fill, use, and flow pretty fast. Have one cap with 2 feet of 3/4" clear hose on it. I just move it from can to can as I use them up. Mine are probably 8+ years old now and still in good condition.

The button cans all that EPA crap flat suck.

Harbor Freight. I got 4 back in May when it was one of their specials, $29/each. Currently showing $44.

Theoretically you could use any vessel that holds liquid so long as you have a funnel to go with it

I would avoid Styrofoam vessels

We had one that was fairly new and of course a real pain in the arse to use.
It's a 5 gallon one. It's not like 5 gallons of gas is really light weight.
But, the spring that keeps the damn thing closed broke, so now it is much easier to use.

They don't let you pump your own. Alot of grown adults who live here don't even know how to use them.

Its kinda fricked up
