Drove a good part of the day to Daytona. Turns out I still prefer Gulf beaches but the East Coast is nice.

Most of my trips are planned well in advance, but last January I got a call from my friends in Florida on a Monday…”What are you doing this week? We’re heading to Costa Rica.” Normally I’m not a big fan of traveling outside the country, but that Friday I was on the plane. It paid off with the best catch of my life.

Tommy White hit a HR to beat Wake Forest in 2023, and after I finished running around I asked my wife if she'd allow me to take my 6 year old to Omaha.
She said yes, and we were gone the next morning on the road to be at all three championship series games.

The wife and I got a great last minute deal at Lido Beach Resort (private beach down from Siesta Key) last year. Used my status and points to fly into Tampa and get a rental car. Great long weekend and prob only spent $300.

Earlier this year. Started talking about going to San Diego while driving through Opelousas. By the time we hit Alexandria we had flights and hotels booked to leave in 3 days.

Probably back in the 90's. Was supposed to go to England with my girlfriend at the time who was from there. We broke up, and decided I wasn't sitting on a plane for eight hours with someone I was going to be fighting with.
I had 2 weeks off so I talked my uncle into taking a trip to Lake Fork to fish for a week.. Was a blast, we wound up going back quite a few times.

All the time, 2019, was helping Bert Jones with a Cystic Fibrosis tournament, a friend calls, got tickets to the SEC championship game in ATL. The next day I’m in ATL.
I make the Oklahoma vs LSU game in ATL, fly back to Texas. The next day I’m drinking Margaritas at Poncho’s Bar in Mexico. A friend calls, an offers his condo in NOLA , for the National Championship game, two days later, I’m there.
In 2023, friends offer me a ticket to the College World Series games, I’m in Omaha, was there for 12 days. Partied till 1:30am after the NC win. Got to bed around 2:30am. At 7 am woke up, drove from Omaha to my house in Texas. About 800 miles.
Been doing much of the same my entire life.
