I would think places like Austin would be the outlier in that situation.

Physicians =/= hospital admin

Places like California, Austin, Seattle, would be the outliers in comparison with the rest of the country.

That's just it,

Those of us who have don't live our lives to please others really don't give a frick what the rest of you think. So whether or not tattoos are fashionable never even really crosses our minds.

People have been getting tattoos since the beginning of time.

It symbolises 1 of 3 things:

1. You're a warrior. Of some kind.

2. You're a part of the scum of society.

3. Everyone makes a few bad decisions in their life. You made an irreversible one and your judgement should be questioned often.

If you don't care what we think then what's the purpose of a tattoo?

Really?

I won't jump to conclusions about your intelligence, I'll just say my tattoo's are for me, not to impress you.

That's my point. When you say they are "for you", what do you mean?

Of the thousands of tattoos I have seen, none have risen to the talent or quality of a Homer, Wyeth or Rembrandt. I will at least admit some have attained a certain Pollock-esque aspect to them...

Wonder when the tatted-up millennials will demand a government bailout to remove their tattoos?

I guess it'll come after they get their student loans (i.e. fun and games on the taxpayer dime) forgiven, or bailed out.

"You didn't TELL US! Wahhhh. You took advantage of our youthful stupidity!"

Next generation.

Next generation will rebel against everything their parents did, their values, fashion, etc.
