Just shoot the mutherfricker. Wouldn't be hard to prove in court that you feared for your life the other guy was twice your size and obviously on something.

re: Johnny Jones Replacements

I said this in a thread yesterday, but if LSU is going to move on from Jones, now is the time to do it for the sake of the program. I like Jones as a person. I like Jones as an ambassador for LSU. It really is hard to say, in a world where many coaches are nothing more than hired guns always looking for their next move, that LSU should let go of a guy that clearly loves this university and has no desire to go anywhere else. That said, there is nothing in his head coaching career pre-LSU and in his 4 years at LSU that makes you to believe he could lead LSU to a championship level. That's the ultimate goal, right? Otherwise why even have a program if you're not trying to be the best?

You'll get the sunshine pumpers rolling in to say the only acceptable options are Archie Miller or Tony Bennett. However, I think we have to be realistic. Bennett has been mentioned twice now as a "potential" LSU coach (both when Johnson and Jones were hired). His ONLY connection to LSU is that his wife is from BR. Otherwise, why would he realistically leave a great job in a great basketball conference to come to LSU? You could argue it would be a downward move. It would be like (insert great SEC football coach) leaving to take a HC job at a middling ACC program. It would be great to get him, but it's just not happening.

You could probably say the same thing for Miller. Yes, LSU is more of a "power program", but this isn't football, mid-majors can compete at a high-level with the big boys. Still, like his brother at Xavier, I think he will eventually leave for a big program. The ultimate question becomes"is LSU that program?" The Florida, Tennessee and Alabama jobs all were available last season. Miller was mentioned as a "potential" candidate for each. Yet, he's still at Dayton. Be honest and take of the P&G glasses, can we say that LSU's basketball program is currently any "better" than Bama, UT and/or Florida? Sure you would have to make the call, but I just don't see Miller to LSU happening.

I'm not really big on Manning, but Brad Underwood is an interesting name. I think he would be interested in the LSU job. The downside is that he is a Kansas native and K-State alum. That job may be coming open at the end of the season, so would he choose home over LSU?

This has been one of the most disappointing and frustrating seasons of LSU basketball in a long time. You can see the individual talent on the court, but rarely does there seem to be any cohesive plan. Still, even with Simmons, Gray and Hornsby definitely departing, there is some real talent left on the team. The downside is that the recruiting class coming in may be the weakest Jones has signed at LSU (excluding his first season with no time to fully recruit) and I just can see any way next year's team is "better" than this year's group in what could be a stronger conference overall. So why wait one more year and possibly allow the talent level to drop?

Either way, (fair or unfair) Jones is about to become a national punching-bag for failing to even reach the NCAAT with the presumptive most-talented player in college basketball and a top 5 recruiting class. why not salvage the good (the talent) and stem the negative perception that is going to come to the program at the end of this season. I think the right coach could come in and have LSU be a competitive team next season. Doing so could obviously help recruiting. For whatever reason, this year's team has quit on their coach. Why let the program sink to rock-bottom before trying to right the ship?

Very solid response.

Up Vote..

For the record I find it hard to imaging the powers that be to make a decision to move on from JJ after this season. Not that they shouldn't I just don't think they will have the guts to.

Not nearly as trashy as herpes.

Early nominee for post of the year.

I had some scouts sitting next to me last season (they were there to look at Mickey/Martin), but commented that Hornsby will have to fix his release b/c a lot of teams will be turned off by his weird shot. one of the guys said it works for him at this level but it won't at the next. (I assumed he was meaning the NBA next level.)

He's not, He jokes that those genes passed him by.
If LSU's football team ever produces a player as important to his sport as Shaq, Pettit, or Maravich maybe one will be erected.

You can only ride the injury excuse for so long. Nikki's teams since the loss of Theresa Plaisance and Jeanne Kenney have been just shy of hot messes. You might not be able to do anything about injuries but you sure as hell can do something about poor character recruits you constantly bring into Baton ROuge, and Nikki has shown no signs that she can recruit SEC level talent without being head cases that will eventually be dismissed from the team or leave on their own.

That IS 100% Nikki's responsibility. So what if Tatum and Chloe are coming in next year, with Nikki's track record they will be suspended and bounce in and out of the line up until they are cut or they transfer. It's Nikki's MO, same as in UCLA.
Well a shite ton of people here were clamoring for the Pels to hire George Karl and he's on the verge of being kicked out of Sac-Town on his arse, so it's looking like two of the top 3 candidates people hoped to replace Monty are failing something awful.

Nope, didn't remember that contract extension.

Everyone involved with decision should be fried.

Easy to lose track when you're staring at a dumpster fire.

Only certain cable providers have the games, if I'm not mistaken. If you live outside of NO, you have to have Uverse with a good sports package to even catch the game.

Maybe it's an access thing.

I live in Baton Rouge and every game (except for those picked up by the NBA network) were broadcast on fox sports New Orleans.

When does her contract expire?

Has to be this year or next. This year iirc.

With the lost season I'm strongly considering cutting the cord as the Pels are one of the reasons I still have cable. That being said, I don't think our fan base is any more tech savvy than the other fan bases, so I don't think you can assume cord cutting is much of a factor as to why we're near the bottom of the league. This team has not only been much worse than expected, as others have said they aren't fun to watch. Watching an undermanned Jarrett Jack lead Hornets team be competitive for 3 and half quarters was often more entertaining than what we've been getting from this year's team. Oh look, Norris Cole just took another pullup midrange shot.

Obviously cutting the cord is not the reason the Pels are dead last in local viewership, that would be because they suck balls and show no signs of life. CUtting the cord is just why I don't watch them, and even if they were leading the league I likely would not keep getting raped by pay tv services, though I'd try a little harder to watch the games elsewhere.

All the injuries and player dismissals aside, Nikki Caldwell has literally been as train wreck at LSU. First and foremost her inability to recruit players of SEC caliber has devastated this team. It was said coming in from UCLA fans that this would happen and they were right.

This program is a freakin mess and I can not for the life of me see LSU keeping a 700K/yr coach that makes it look like an accident when her team's win.

Letting Kalani Brown leave Louisiana turned my opinion of Nikki, I don't care, you do not let a player like that get out of state. From the sounds of it Nikki's staff never really went after Brown seriously. Pathetic.
Meh. I canceled my cable on 1/1/16 and haven't missed it. I'll listen to the games on the radio if I can or catch a game at Twin Peaks or something, but the Pelicans are no reason to continue to get raked over the coals by cable providers and dish networks.
Apparently I have more of a life than most of you and don't spend my whole life on this site. Then again I have been here long enough to know how assinie the OT is and should not have expected many intelligent responses from you retards.

As far as the thread, delete it, move it or just stick it up your asses. You're lameass insults ammuse me.
