The original flaw in tattoos is usually overlooked when speaking in terms of whether they hold any value as an edgy or kewl statement. The human body is probably the most studied and represented single item in the history of art. It is capable of stirring the strongest and most uncontrollable physical and emotional reaction, especially in a state of nudity. To me it seems to be the ultimate in arrogance that anybody would ever think they could add what is essentially a blemish (within the context of the human body aesthetic) and think they are IMPROVING upon probably nature's single most beautiful and mystical creation.
It's doubly laughable when a beautiful human form is depicted on the canvas of an actual human form... which is now permanently compromised by that very defacement.
The irony levels with tattoos are so numerous and overlapping that it boggles the mind.
